Went for an early evening meal and sat in downstairs bar. Only one or two other patrons which suited us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good variety on menu at good prices. I had bangers and mash which I thoroughly enjoyed, my g/f had a steak which was cooked to her taste. Bar was spotlessly clean. Several people came through to dine in the outdoor area upstairs. Highly recommended.
Great food, friendly staff. It was a hot day today and the outdoor dining was a good temperature. Inside was all right if you weren't in the direct sun. Good array of various beers.
We were looking for a new Pub to try for an evening meal, never been to the Crescent so decided to go. Extremely impressed with everything about it from the moment we walked in. Great feel about the bar/lounge area which is where we had our meal, the service was perfect, the food was impeccable, great choice on the menu. The busy entertainment area was upstairs so there was noise separation which meant we could have a quite conversation downstairs which was also busy and the prices were very reasonable. In summary we could find no faults whatsoever which is extremely unusual. We will definitely return very soon!! Highly recommend the Crescent.
Excellent service and exquisite food. I scoffed down the pavlova and forgot to take a photo of when it was first served. So delish!
The Crescent provides excellent service, equally good food, and value for your hard earned, slightly off the Elizabeth Street beaten track. For my partner the gluten free options were impressive with the terrine for starters, followed by bangers and mash hitting the spot. My steak was perfect. Plenty of interesting wine and beer options. Highly recommended!
The bar staff were super nice and big fans of Onyx dog. They happily turned on the patio heater so we were cosy enjoying the outdoor area.
Absolutely brilliant! Lovely staff and superb food too. The Sunday roast is to die for. The pie of the day is an incredible bargain. I keep coming back!!! The above was written a few months ago! I am indeed a returning customer. The food is still consistently good with a fairly regular changing menu. They also host events, it’s never boring. I love it!g
Fabulous Sunday night dinner last night. The bar was quiet and staff super friendly and helpful. Husband had great sirloin and I had veggie main. They didn’t have the bottle of wine we had hoped for but thrilled us with an alternative. Super fresh and tasty food. Warm olives. Great polenta chips and straciatelle to start. Beautifully presented. We’ll worth a visit.
Our former local, the absolute best pub in Hobart. A pub that still looks like a pub, has a great selection of classics but still caters to the yuppie generation we are with a bougie wine list and fancy small plates. Sit out on the deck, enjoy the laughs with the staff and return for the local vibes!
Wow, what a welcome suprise on the inside! Not your usual pub fare. Superb food. Our meals looked like something out of a food photography shoot - and tasted even better. Staff seemed like they genuinely enjoyed working there - and were very knowledgeable and helpful. The rooftop bar was a lovely cosy spot. Great that they've kept the old world pub feel, with food that's everything but. Treat yourself and give it a try.
