Wow! I had a lovely first time experience here at the Hyperdome. The lovely young man at the counter with dark hair and glasses actually acknowledged me while I was waiting to be served, then the other young man who bought my coffee was happy to oblige when I asked for more butter and at the same time I dropped my fork so he brought me another, all with a smile. Breakfast was lovely and I would definitly recommend eating here. It's so hard to find genuine friendly service so thank you for making a great start to my day!!!
The meals are truly at "home cook" levels... I'm sure it's satisfactory for the older gen but overall the presentation of the food isn't appetizing - not for look or taste. Unfortunately, the poached eggs are microwaved or very poorly pot poached in shallow water, tasted strongly of vinegar and its strong because i personally love vinegar and the hollandaise sauce was literally scattered across the meal and not the highest quality. I would suggest employing an experienced cook or chef who knows classic breakfast presentation and changing out the brand of hollandaise to a better quality. The wait time should have yielded far better results. We also had a wrong order taken -- my partner and myself aren't picky I'll eat anything but she wont -- but it would have been caught if we had been given a proper meal receipt, not invoice, or if it had been read back to us. The coffee was fine. Nice and hot for a cold day. Really enjoyed it.
Waited over 45mins for Eggs on toast. When I went to ask where my order was, I was told they forgot to print my order and give it to the kitchen and would be a further half hour wait due to how busy they were. Asked for a refund. The rest of my table who paid separately waited over an hour for their breakfast. Would not recommend this place.
Would not eat here again. Being a Mum loved the idea of my 2y/o being able to play in an enclosed playground while I had a coffee with friends or family. Today I was asked to leave mid way through my meal by staff as the kids in the playground were playing to loudly 2 of the kids weren't even mine. This playground was in the middle of a busy shopping centre. My littlr guy is only 2. I was extremely embrassed & disappointed with the treatment, not to mentioned surprised. We won't even start with quality of food. We won't be back.
Wait time was terrible. Was waiting for a coffee and frappe and only one guy was making it which took well over 15 minutes. The other four staff seem to be cleaning and laughing together while myself and another woman were waiting for our drinks. Good coffee but the time could've improved a lot.
We visited today as there was a playground and we have a 1 year old. It was very disappointing. The open grills are basic and something most people would make at home for a lazy dinner. I had a salmon and cream cheese bagel which was supposed to have capers. It had one caper. The lettuce was old, slightly mushy and was deteriorating. I had to take it off. But all of that wasn’t nearly as terrible as their “air fried” chips and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders’ crumb was mushy and wet. Tasted so awful. The chips were either over cooked and hard OR soft and mushy. They also had a fishy smell. Just disgusting. I get that the cafe is in a shopping centre, but they shoudn’t offer meals if they can’t maintain quality. Especially when they charge cafe prices but deliver food that an inexperienced home cook could slap together. To make matters worse, the playground was hazardous with long tubes everywhere on the ground and through the playground that kids could trip over. The tubes didn’t seem to serve any purpose. Worst cafe experience ever. We were meeting our American friends and drove from Toowoomba. It was very embarrassing for Australia.
The best service I've received was from Emma! The first time I visited this Cafe I was served by her and she actually remembered my order the second time I came around now.. that's special! And I had ordered two super awesome frappes.. Soy vanilla and lactose free chocolate hazelnut
Strike 2 for this eatery... Last visit asked for a Green Tea which came out burnt and undrinkable. Today got a Flat White w/ 2 shots and a Latte and Couldn't taste the difference between them. Waaay too much milk in both and undrinkable. Even confirmed the double shot and was assured that it was. Coffee returned and left. Can't fault the food but the beverages are letting them down big time.
Inside Hyperdome. Service is friendly. The cappuccino is average
Delicious Dirty Chai and Crispy Bacon toasted sandwich. I’m pretty fussy with my dirty chais so I was very happy I got a real nice one today! The toasted sandwich was super super crispy / the way I like it!!!
