Story

“We’re here to help.” Believe it or not, we thought long and hard about that simple opening statement!

But in the end, those four short words capture what Credit Union SA is about better than any reference to our banking expertise and experience ever could.

We’re here to help South Australians do more with their money, so that in turn they can make more of life. That could involve help buying a home or car, saving for a holiday, insuring property, or simply getting the household finances under control.

It’s an approach that - coupled with our proud commitment to strengthening our local South Australian communities for a brighter future - has already attracted around 50,000 members.

So contact us today and find out how we can help you do more with your money. creditunionsa.com.au/contact-us

Credit Union SA is South Australia’s third largest credit union, with 6 branches, over $1 billion in assets, around 50,000 members.

As a member-based mutual organisation, we are owned 100% by our customers. We are not driven by the need to generate extreme profits or return dividends to shareholders in the manner of the major banks. We're able to channel the profits we generate back to our Membership and broader community.

This is achieved in the form of innovative new products and services, low fees, great interest rates, high levels of personal service, and community development initiatives and project funding.

Absolute garbage. Antiquated security means every time you want to make a large payment imagine doing home renos you have to call and speak to someone - for every day you may exceed the limit. And if you spend more than $1000 per day on pay pass, again, expect to be on hold waiting to speak to someone. Todays wait time was over an hour until I had to hang up to get on a plane… I wish I could say it’s an isolated incident but since I joined in April last year, the exception is if you wait less than 10 minutes - average wait time over 20mins. Either fix your security or hire more phone staff so is busy people are not wasting hours
My 5 stars are based on today's experience. Could not go into the city branch so had to use phone customer service. Was dreading it because the hold wait is usually unbearably long, but today I had a relatively short hold time of about15 minutes and and the service rep was cheery, helpful and professional. He organised my issue promptly.
Have been a member since 1962 - ah how times have changed ! No local branch - only King William Street and as for phone contact absolutely horrible to the extent that you doubt whether you will ever speak to a human. Come on - lift your game.
Not even one star . Waited more than hour and still waiting to increase my transfer limit . No option to do it online and asking us to call each time . What a pathetic situation. Wasting people time and phone calls are managed by just one staff . Now I am crossing one hour waiting time..... Never ever open account/ home loan with this Bank. You will be disappointed
Awful response times and customer service. Made to feel like a criminal just wanting access to my own money. Took a whole day to get given approval to spend my own cash. The second my mortgage is done I'm out of there.
Great honest banking. Not sure about the other reviews, but I’ve never had an issue getting onto someone at the bank. And at least you talk to someone who’s actually local. Never had an issue with CUSA.
You’re the worst bank, no doubt why there’s no one in the branch ever. Looked for some help with my bank but there was a straight no.
Just a really good alternative bank. I really appreciate the simplicity of their coin counting machine and even though i’ve had a few issues every now and then, the staff have always been able to help me fix them straight away. I don’t understand why they get such bad reviews. It’s a nice looking, comfortable, modern branch. Even though there is only one branch, it’s centrally located and has good opening hours.
Tried twice to phone to sort out an online banking problem. Waited on hold in excess of two hours before giving up. Emailed and was advised that someone would phone me back. After a few days someone phoned and left a voicemail with the general number to call back on. I tried calling and waited in the queue before giving up again. Emailed to request a direct number to call. No response. Draw your own conclusions!
Phone answering service hopeless. Could not get through to report a fraud till next day. Closing a/c s down
