Cranky Cafe

Decided to stop in for lunch based on Google reviews of competing, like-for-like cafes and boy are we glad we did. The menu items were more accessible using Google menu tab when viewing online, otherwise there's quite a vast menu to take in as they're written on various boards around the shop front. Easy enough either way though. Busy cafe, plenty of people enjoying what looked to be great food. Friendly staff made ordering easy. It's a"grab a table and head on up when you're ready to order" type of cafe - very casual. Ordered the flake fish and chips as well as the crispy chicken burger, along with coffees and a spider for the young one. Wow! The serves were impressive, as too the quality of the food. The crispy chicken burger had to be one of the best I've ever had. The bun was beautiful. Freshly prepared, super crispy, moist chicken and the chips were cooked beautifully. The flake fish and chips also a delight - that's how you batter fish! Light, crispy and fish cooked just right. Coffees were nice. Was easy to see why it gets as many customers as they do. Would I go back again? absolutely. Compliments to these guys, everything was top notch! Kid-friendliness: Menu items both food and drink catered towards younger kids, and with enough variety. Parking: Plenty of parking nearby as the cafe is across from a sizable park and beach access Wheelchair accessibility: Dealing direct from a shop front right on foot path access. Unable to comment as to accessing inside the cafe as this was closed at the time of reviewing.

Very friendly staff at this dog friendly cafe. Extensive menu that caters for Vegetarians & Vegans. Plenty of parking. Situated across the road from a park that has access to the beach. I ordered the local fish of the day with sweet potato fries & a garden salad. It was delicious! Toby & Gracie got a doggo biscuit each.

Great place for grabbing a bite. Just next to the beach. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced given the location. Highly recommended.

Amazing cafe. My family has a lot of allergies and they were super helpful in checking packaging and ingredients for us. Staff are very friendly and food was great. They had lots of gluten-free options and even had lactose free milk. Will definitely stop off here again when we come back down to Merimbula.

Stopped by after a day at the beach. So very accommodating with 10 minutes before closing, happy to recommend fish and accompaniments for a late lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. We’ll be back now we know what great food to expect.

I visited for lunch on a Sunday with 4 kids for a quick bite. We were visiting Merimbula for the day and didn't have any reservations so went off Google reviews. There was a bit of a line when we ordered and there is very limited seating. They only have seating outdoors as the dining area is closed. There is, however, a kids park across so you can quite easily take your food across the road. The menu has broad, and we had a collection of burgers, kids meals and the special Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. They were all very tasty especially the Philly steak and the portions were quite large.

No frills - excellent food. Had the Brekkie Wrap which was yum. Everyone else had BLT, burger with the lot, cheese burger, prawns and kids meals. So we sampled quite a lot. Everyone happy really enjoyed the berry frappe. There was a big line when we arrived but service is very efficient! Will go again.

Just what was needed on a rainy beach day. 1st time here and will be suggesting this place to anyone we know coming through town. Thanks heaps for some delicious breakfast wraps and healthy start mix bowl with milkshakes and hot chocolates for our family. What a great start to the day.

Had breakfast here today and it was good. Had a nice table outside and some great egg benedict.

Edited: Visited again after 4 years and what a different experience this was. The indoor dining was closed. The menu has completely changed to now predominantly sandwiches and wraps. Decided not to eat here because it all looked so underwhelming and disappointing. … Love love loved this place! Looked like a family owned business. Friendly environment and staff. Ah-maaaazing food! We had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and Israeli hummus and Turkish bread.
