I played Craigieburn Golf Course today with a group of 20 friends, we took over 6 tee slots.nnThe proshop staff were very friendly and helpful and accommodated all our needs. And the staff in the restaurant and bar were amazingly helpful with signing in bar staff were great with service and drinks. nnThe Weather was awesome but a bit windy.nnThe course was in pretty good condition for the very dry summer and autumn. This made the fairways firm and fast. This rewards great driving off the tee. Due to heat and dry conditions the greens and surrounds were soft under foot due to watering, but this is understandable. Greens played slightly slow but very good. Its a great value course and very enjoyable to play. I think this could be a hidden gem with value for money and facilities on site. I highly recommend to play a game there.
Living in the North, has its ups and downs. Kebabs? Up! Indian? Up! Mad bakeries and grocery stores? Up!nnPub food? DOWN!nnIf I NEVER eat here again, I will consider my life fulfilled. I even paid for membership to reduce the price of the bistro. I literally want to reverse the $5 membership fee from my credit card company.nnThe food was, I'm not joking, to a level that a Maccas meal around the corner, could be classified as a Michelin Star restaurant.nnGrilled fish looked boiled or reheated, and the chicken was definitely from the bottom of the freezer.nnWhy do I do this to my family?nnStick to inner city for pub meals. Great country club bar and restaurant. Pro shop is a little tacked on but friendly staff, and the course is a little rough, but does offer good value and the striped fairways are nice. Few good holes, and the greens are in decent condition, if a little pockmarked from pitch marks not being repaired.
A recent discovery, this has become my favourite go-to place. Even with a low joining fee of $5 from June to June gives you good rewards, including the soon to be enjoyed birthday gift. The play area is the biggest I have seen and a child's paradise...not around when I needed it, but I can enjoy the lovely views of the golf areas from the huge windows while munching on a delicious calamari salad.
I have been eating lunch here for a little while now and my partner and I have tried all different meals. To be honest, we cannot fault anything we have had. Today I went for the beef & cashew stir fry & he had the Pork & Prawn stir fry. We thoroughly enjoyed them.
