Story

Cottle Coffee first began in 1972, with the purchase of an existing business known as LD Lazarus, which was located at Montague Street South Melbourne and was established in 1912. It was then that Cottle Coffee began to take off. Bruce made a number of trips to New Guinea and India in pursuit of acquiring and defining the art of roasting and making that perfect cup of coffee. His travel and dedication has resulted in what we see today as a highly successful business, that prides itself on excellent quality.

As a result of further expansion, Cottle Coffee moved again in 1978, this time to 300 Coventry Street South Melbourne, where it has remained for the last 30 years.

The business continued to grow under the proprietorship of Sandra Cottle.Bruce left behind an institution, which has continued to grow and maintain success both with their products and services supplied and continues to pride itself and successes on loyal clientele and excellent reputation not only in Melbourne but also through out Australia.

Richard Cottle continues to maintain and preserve the reputation and high quality products and services once generated by his late father. Today, you will see Richard either roasting, fixing machinery or just enjoying a coffee at Cottle on Coventry!
