Paid $100 for them to lighten my virgin black hair to dark brown. After the hairdressing dyed my hair three times over two sessions first just with dye which didn't work, then with bleach which came out very streaky, and then with hydrogen peroxide, I ended up with very damaged hair that was a deeper black than what I came in with. I was not given a refund and instead the hairdresser offered to dye my already damaged hair again, for the fourth time. Will definitely need to pay to get it fixed as my hair has now looks red/purple in certain lights. Attached pictures show my hair after the second time dying with bleach.
Very disappointing. As a retired hair dresser myself we did our training in the 80,s when hairdressers were trained by the pivot point system, and we were trained properly over 4 years no short cuts.! Sadly I have tried every salon in forest lake and the only stylists that can cut hair properly are the quick cuts Asian $10 hair cutters.!! I asked for the most senior stylist and she had no idea. I had pictures to show and also tried to show and explain what graduation in a bob was, but no idea. I was horrified. She is a lovely person but with very poor hairdressing skills, even the basics of blow drying I feared for my hair and scalp.All I can say is the industry is in tatters in Australia now. I think I have to go to Hong Kong or London just to get my hair cut properly.!!!
Absolutely awful customer service and the owner was just so uncaring. After the last time I brought my 4 year old there your hairdresser was great and you were well aware of the challenges in getting his hair cut. But instead of just politely saying at the end of that cut your salon was not able do it again, which I would have understood, you took a rebooking. But today was a disaster, I was faced with a new hairdresser who was clearly not aware of how much my boy moves and part cut decided she did not want to continue. Now I am left with a side of his head shaved.. Then on the phone you tell me it is a liability and it was just not worth it for a $14.95 hair cut....... That‘s the way to make your customers feel good. If this is the way you felt, why take on the rebooking, not to mentioned we confirmed the booking yesterday!!!!!! Such a waste of time and very embarrassing. Plus our appointment time was changed from 8:30 to 9am with no explanation. Will never return and will make sure to tell others.
The first time I went here it was super busy the person who cut my hair was super lovely and did an amazing job. However, I booked to have the straighten afterwards and the owners sister who had no qualifications was straightening my hair and it took FOREVER. The second time I went here it was an average experience. The third time was the worst. I booked over the phone for the $60 shampoo, cut and blow-dry/straighten package and made clear I only wanted a trim. I arrived and told them I wanted a trim. I sat in the chair the lady who said she had 30 years experience showed me how much she was cutting off and I said it was fine her next words were "just neatening up the layers" I had long layers and I said yes what I was not expecting was for her to add numerous layers to my very curly hair. My beautiful long curly hair has now been absolutely ruined and turned into an afro. She then charged me $20 extra for a "style cut, which I did not ask for" I now have to wear my hair in a permanent bun, when it's in a pony tail it looks like I just have a fluffy pom pom on my head. In a plait the layers stick out everywhere and it looks looks shocking. I sat in my car and cried , I will never return here nor recommend anyone I know to ever go here. Worst experience of my life, what a waste of money.
Booked in to have my hair cut and styled for an event I had that night, I asked for layering at the front of my hair, no shorter than my collar bones and left with hair cut at my chin. One side was layered deeply and the other looked like she hadn't even cut it at all. I showed her a photo of how I wanted my hair curled loose, bouncy waves she decided to take tiny sections and curl them into tight pin curls which she said would fall into a wave when I brushed out later they did not brush out and I was left with Shirley Temple curls that I couldn't get to brush out because she drenched my hair in hairspray. I had an hour before my event to re-wash my hair, dry it, and re-style myself. I had to make an appointment at another salon Oscars Oscars to have them fix the cut which they did perfectly they were also very confused as to what they had done to my layering originally. I was also coldly greeted when I first arrived by being told that my appointment was double booked and they had to squeeze me in like it's my problem. Complete waste of money, and cost me even more money having what they did fixed.
My 16 yr old daughter has tried this place 3 or 4 times. She has had to ask them to fix her coloured hair each time. On the last occasion they wanted her to spend more money to get more foils to fix the orange tinge at the roots and they would discount the price. It had already cost her $158 so spending more wasn’t an option plus another few hours of her time. She asked them to refund the cost of the colour and they refused she was happy with the cut. Noting all the poor reviews for this place, it was always a risk to go there however we wanted to support local businesses. Offering fixes is great but ultimately there are plenty of other good salons to choose from and let’s face it, not everyone has got hours and hours to waste in a hair salon. Disappointing result, they have lost a loyal long term customer.
I have a wonderful hairdresser who always does an amazing job on my hair she has many years of experience and it shows I really look forward to getting my hair done every month I would highly recommend Concrete Blond to anyone looking forward to a great overall experience All the gals are great! You won't regret it
Wonderful hairdressing experience. All staff were super friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The stylist Bec who did my hair was very professional and did a great job. To top it off they had an epic music play list going. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this hair salon.
Always very happy with the result after coming here! I have noticed a change in staff from late last year which has made a world of difference. The girls here now are friendly and professional in their approach, and make you feel really comfortable. They listen to what kind of cut you are looking for and actually give you what you ask for! The colors are glossy, and leave your hair feeling rejuvenated. A special mention to Sammy always makes sure I am feeling special. I always leave feeling fresh and happy with the result!
