Commonwealth golf club, is one of the many wonderful and great golf courses on the Melbourne sandbelt. This is an exclusive member's only golf course, there are a few ways to be able to get a game there, one you will need to know a member or there is a golf event arranged by a 3rd party at the venue. I was invited by my friend who is been a long member, a member guest competition day. It was overwhelming driving in, everything was just so well maintained and just was very pleasing to the eye. The course was just awesome. As can be seen by the pictures. The staff at the pro shop were friendly and great to chat to and find out information on golf products or course knowledge. Practice facility is top knotch. Golf course magnificent. The golf course plays difficult as it is a tight treelined layout. Also beware if you land in the bunker on the full the ball will plug, have fun getting it back in play . The fairways make it, no excuse not to flush the ball. The biggest challenge I found is on the greens. With very subtle breaks, smooth roll and fast. Your game on the greens will make or break your game. It is well worth it, if you get a chance to play on this beautiful golf course.
Commonwealth is a great club from the driving range to the new outstanding course. Driving range now has free balls which is special for commonwealth and is just wonderful!!
My wife and I played a round at Commonwealth as reciprocal member from interstate Canberra last year.Highly courteous and professional staff and a wonderfull old school type golf club. Will be back. Thank you.
Nice course. 100 years old. Established trees and typical Sandbelt design. Greens are little tricky because if u get from the wrong side, it will always move u away from the hole. I have a bit of challenge about no snacks and drinks in between. Also, no buggies !!!! I took away one star because of that.
Great club. Must reccomend Annabelle Cosgrove, a stellar member of the events and membership team who was kind enough to give me an excellent tour of the facilities.
Very privileged to play there today. Very friendly staff, old style clubhouse but very comfortable. Course in good condition and bunkers typical sand belt standard. I've played there a number of times over a number of years and still one of my favourites.

Amazing course. Very challenging. Look can be deceived on the green, even the ball landed. I love this course. Seriously I enjoy golf here than Kingston Heath any days. Try it's special lemon lime bitter, very nice. Thank you.
