I AM LEAVING COMMBANK!!! I have been a CommBank customer for over 20 years. My super is with Future Super. I have several mortgages and a business account. The staff at CommBank Burleigh are all lovely and helpful and worth 5 stars. The business manager there is very professional and approachable and a good asset for CommBank. The CommBank Board need to respect their workers by minimizing risk that may affect their job security. Investing in NEW COAL MINES and COAL FIRED Power Stations and UNCONVENTIONAL GAS has clearly and undoubtedly become a sovereign risk, an economic risk, an investment risk, a social risk, and an environmental risk that can no longer be ignored – and this will no longer be tolerated by the vast majority of educated and informed Australians!!! The individuals on the Board of CommBank would be morally and ethically bankrupt to continue to do so. Mining in general is essential and a vital part of progress and a clean energy future. But, not COAL or UNCONVENTIONAL GAS! If the ADANI mine goes ahead I will be leaving COMMBANK. If COMMBANK do not publicly declare that they will no longer fund or lend or invest in new coal fire power stations, I will be leaving the bank and never coming back. What the big 4 don’t realise is that we all know coal is dead, so the first of the BIG 4 that come out publicly and state they will no longer invest in COAL, will not only get some amazing MASSIVE publicity, but you will cement your brand into the mind of young Australians into the future. You will then be well placed to invest in the next energy revolution and ethically responsible, satisfying your CSR responsibilities and galvanising your BRAND BRAND BRAND for the future – that is key – what the hell are you waiting for???? CommBank invested $3.9Billion in fossil fuels last year - the biggest funders in Australia. If something is not done and if Commbank do not change their tune and if the ADANI mine goes ahead I am LEAVING COMMBANK!!!!!
