About

Colombos Pizza – 40 years on, and still going strong.

Story

Colombos is truly a second home for many families in Balwyn and its surrounding suburbs. The children of those families are all grown up now, but they’re still keeping up the tradition of eating at Colombos as a family.

It’s a busy restaurant; delays are to be expected, so we ask you to be patient – but it is worth it!

We are a family friendly restaurant, and we can take group bookings of up to 200 people. We also do sporting functions, school functions, birthday parties, and catering.

We’re licensed, and allow BYO wine. We also cater for customers who require gluten-free meals, as well as other food allergies.

Family restaurant that has been consistently good for years. Great value and enough spacing between tables, that even on a busy night with large groups in, you can still hear yourself think. Delicious pizzas, with a small for only $13!
Pizza good quality toppings, the dough a little bit too thick. The other items arancini, salmon fillet were very good. Young, helpful and intelligent staff. Was a good experience willing to try again :
Fast friendly, big many people good
Great food and very welcoming staff. My son loved the range of pasta options and settled on the marinara. It was full of fresh seafood and was delicious. My pizza I forget the name was huge but a little on the bland side, enjoyable enough but needed something to give it oomph. We'll definitely be coming back with the family again.
Third worst pizza ever. Other dishes are very average but edible. Expensive for what was served. Service was average. Appears to cater for a very accepting crowd who acknowledge the food is average but the venue is large and accessible so people go there with kids. If your an adult and looking for somewhere to actualy enjoy food I would spend my money elsewhere.
Reasonable food. Their pizzas are okay... nothing too special though. On the time i went in for dinner, my dining partner and I had to wait over an hour for our pizzas to arrive even though the restuarant was quiet. And they had completely forgotten about our drinks order. Not good! On another visit here, the service was better, but the food still average. The desserts are all frozen and have that fridgey taste. I think if you're looking for a quick bite where you sit down, maybe it's worth it?? However if you want a good pizza, better to walk down to Domino's and get something much tastier.
GO ELSEWHERE.... We've had a meal here probably once a month for the past couple of years, and it's been OK, nothing flash. However this evening was a real doosie! My husband & I both ordered 'Veal Scallopini' which we've done many times. Tonight our servings were TINY - two very small portions of veal hidden by a load of mushrooms & cream sauce, one tiny overcooked baby potato and about 10 twice cooked/dry green beans all for $25 ea. Disappointed in the quantity and quality definitely nothing like we've had before, my husband brought this to the attention of the female manager the owner was not in and gave back his plate, and then spoke to the cook, in the hopes they'd make good on 'their error!?!'. However.....he was told by the female manager 'that's how we serve this meal, the meat is small when it's delivered' and 'we have regular people who come in every day to order this and they don't complain'. WHAT!?!? Saving the best till last......the cook tells my husband "if you don't like it, don't come back!". The female manager then reappears at our table and will not let up, arguing with me and reiterating 'that's how we serve this meal......', she would not stop - I had to tell her to stop it and just go away! The behaviour was terrible. So, thanks for your advice 'cook', we WON'T BE BACK!
Everything was amazing, the pizzas were truly amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone who is trying to eat good food at a reasonable price. The only reason I gave a 4/5 was because the waiters/waitresses were slow at times, however they were very nice and well mannered.
Always a family favourite. Very quick turnaround and reasonable price. Big venue and just turn up in most cases. Pizzas are good. Great for young kids. A bit noisy though
First time I have ever felt insulted by who I presume was the owner of the restaurant. The service was slow and the only pizza I have found worth ordering is tandoori chicken pizza. Next time I'll just go to an Indian restaurant where they actually make tandoori chicken and where they treat their customers with courtesy and respect.
