This family store has made it through the difficult COVID times and still managed to keep operating. They order everything I've ever wanted in and do it all with a smile. Sure the prices are slightly higher, but for a small business to succeed when lots of book stores are selling out it's a fair balance to keep Collins on the main street. We also appreciate the attentive level of customer service and large selection of books in my favourite genres.
Some books are okay, mostly overpriced. Customer service experience was very poor, no eye contact, no smile, nothing but dismissal and an underlying sense of being very unwanted. Being gifted a gift card at 40 dollars, I went here and sought out 2 books summing to a total of 43 dollars, didn't have any cash on me and was denied the books I wanted for the sake of 3 dollars, what's that not even 5 minutes of pay, sitting on your bum in a book store? Thanks a lot, I wont be back thankfully I have respect for myself because you certainly shouldn't expect any respect from the staff.
Great little shop. Good layout with categories easy to find. Staff are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable for the most part.
Awesome Book store with a Great selection of pop vinyl collectables!
Staff was friendly, had one of the books I was after, and they were happy to order in the one that wasn't there which was great. Set out in a way where subjected books are easy to find
The staff were helping. But didn't have the book I was after. Cheers Greg
Pre order of next Wilbur Smith wasn't an issue. Just need to wait on call to collect. Very easy.
Extremely confused reading these reviews seeing that you're very concious of not letting customers in the store without a mask on, when the lady behind the counter had her mask down when I walked into the store. If you are going to enforce these rules make sure that you yourselves follow said rules otherwise you come accross as hypocrites. I will not be returning here any time soon.
Small book store with a good range of books and service is superb
Extremely rude, and discriminatory. Have spent a lot of money previously in this store, will never again. Excuse me, but I am not Rebecca, my name is Rachel. Maybe, you should stop assuming things, like you have the right to discriminate against people because of unlawful directions. I have submitted a formal complaint to the Human Rights Commission for breach of the privacy and discrimination act. Asking to see someone's exemption from their doctor, is a breach of the privacy act. I tried to explain this to the lady serving, but she was too busy being rude and talking over me.
