Wonderful suburb in Melbourne in our area. Plenty of interesting shopping, a mix of 20s housing as well as new apartment blocks as well as older apartment blocks. Many restaurants as well as boutique shopping.
Not a bad station, has two ways to access the station on both sides if the road, platform is okay with enough shade I suppose.
A typically basic and old-fashioned station on the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines, but nice enough - I've never had any issues here, other than some overcrowded trains in peak times. It's nicely located between Gahan Reserve and Collingwood Town Hall.
People complain because of some of the colourful characters there, but it’s a well serviced station with lots of lighting and station police. The police station is right at the bottom of the stairs if you feel unsafe: Can get crowded after school.
I heard that this was one of the two most overpoliced train stations in Melbourne other than Footscray, but I didn't expect the visual comedy of like two PSO's, four ticket inspectors on the platform, a police station and 6 police cars parked right outside.
