It's a large Coles supermarket, you know what you're going to get.nnAs long as you're happy to self-serve at all the checkout it's OK but if you can't and want / need to be served... Well, good luck with that.nnThey've got security cameras scanning the entrance and that's their right but I have a major problem with their camera 'overlapping' into the public mall areas and filming people there.
How is it that self-checkouts are becoming worse & worse to use?nTechnology is supposed to improve over time, but not here.nnLately, I get 'bad scans' every time I shop. Today, twice.nAnd then you have to wait for an assistant to reset it.nSeriously, if the item doesn't scan properly, THEN DON'T MAKE THE BEEPING NOISE TO INDICATE IT'S FINE!nnThis never used to happen.nnAlso, now we have to weigh our re-usable bags before placing in the packing area.nMore annoyance.nAnd, it didn't used to be possible to accidentally scan something twice, because it needed to detect the weight in the packing area before anything else would scan.nnAggravating because it's pointlessly stupid.nnWho updates this tech??
We had a great experience in Coles Marion today. Expecting absolute chaos given its so close to Christmas. It was busy as expected but also thought the last minute things I needed would be difficult to find. But to my surprise everything was in surplus, lovely wide aisles made it all quick and easy. Well done and merry Christmas to all staff
Bought two 5 kg packs of SunRice Medium Grain Rice from Coles a couple of months ago, but I no longer have the receipt. The first pack was perfectly fine. However, when I opened the second pack and transferred the rice into containers, I discovered it was infested with “rice shoot flies.”nnI’ve always trusted Coles and SunRice given their reputable standing, but neither seems willing to address the issue. They even mentioned that this problem has never been reported before, which makes me feel dismissed rather than reassured. I’m sharing this experience to see if others have encountered a similar issue and to raise awareness so that it might be taken seriously.
At the self checkout point today my child accidentally spilled her coffee and the team member from Asian background was absolutely rude and asked my daughter to clean the coffee from the floor. Her facial expressions were very concerning as she said oh my gosh.nOver and above my child was so apologetic and was expressing her feelings again and again but her apologies were going into vain as she turned her deaf ears towards her and didn’t even acknowledge my child once.nIt’s time Cole’s hire people who are more empathetic and understanding and accept that humans can make mistakes.nVery saddening and disappointing.
