This store really needs to sort out their inventory management. Many times over the years I've been in to purchase a few things, and time and time again there are certain 'half price' specials that are just never available. Feels very bait-and-switch. Other Coles in the area do not have this problem. Worst part is they have these ridiculous doors at the exit that lock you in unless you buy something. So if you want to leave without purchasing something because they can’t keep their shelves stocked or maybe just choose not to, you are locked in the store until you can get the attention of the one self checkout clerk who is probably busy trying to assist the 15 or so self checkouts they are responsible for overseeing!
Such a shame that one staff member can change your shopping habits. I like this store but there is one staff member who is so nasty that I am surprised she works in customer service! Her name badge says Lee and my husband encountered very unpleasant behaviour. Do not approach her with any questions or queries or she will unleash her full blown nastiness on you! My husband was left shocked and bewildered at her response to a very simple question! This woman needs to be reminded that she works for the customer and a smile and some friendly assistance goes a long way in someone returning to your store!! Lara
On October 12, I purchased the Coles 450g Eye Fillet Steak for $23.50. I don’t do this often, just for special occasions. The Best Before date was 30/10/24. That evening, I prepared the steak with a little salt and oil and pan fried as I would usually do. After 2 minutes a white watery liquid was coming out of the steak and the smell was awful. Steak was not searing at all, stayed a very pale grey. I turned steak over and cooked for a further minute. The smell was still revolting. We took a small bite each and it was definitely OFF in taste and smell. I sent a message to Coles Complaints Department and their response was “thank you for your email regarding in store purchase. We’re terribly sorry to hear that your order had a poor quality item. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you”. Not a mention of a refund of this so called “poor quality” product …..NOTHING. I definitely won’t be purchasing meat from Coles anymore. Not a happy customer. I have receipt and meat package sticker as am unable to send photo.
The staff here have terrible customer service. Asked two workers separately stacking shelves if they knew where an item was I had open in the Coles website. Both replied with I don’t know. With no care of helping, just I don’t know. It was also nowhere near closing time, they were not in a rush. It was 11:30 am on a Friday. Customer service absolutely not a priority in these stores anymore.
There is an extremely loud, piercing, high pitched announcement beeper used in Robina store that is almost eardrum shattering. A quarter of that volume would be enough but the staff I talked to are just not interested and turned their back on me when I asked about it. Unbelievably rude! This noise will drive me from the store if it keeps up. Perhaps one day when the staff sue for hearing loss then someone might take notice. Also there are no quick checkouts like at Mudgeeraba where they don't have the ridiculously loud beepers. Perhaps I'll just stay with Mudgeeraba or just go back to Woolies.
