Discriminated, Humiliated and Bullied in a Single Conversation at Coles Ringwood Squarenn1. DiscriminationnnI was already speaking with staff and waiting for assistance when Maree interrupted me and told me to stop so she could serve another customer who had just arrived after me. I had been there first, yet I was deprioritised. The only obvious difference between us was that I am a woman of color and the other customer was a white man. This made me feel discriminated against and treated unfairly.nn2. Humiliation and BullyingnnI already had a reference number from a case handled online and asked Maree to simply check the system first before making me explain everything again. I explained that I had already repeated the story many times online and again to another staff member that morning. Maree refused to check the system and repeatedly forced me to explain the entire issue again, despite me clearly saying it was stressful and unpleasant.nnThe issue involved a poor-quality product that made my whole house smell bad and ruined my family’s dinner, forcing us to throw the food away and arrange another dinner. Instead of helping, Maree refused to assist me properly and dismissed my concerns. She refused to serve me so I had no choice but to ask to see a manager. She then informed me that she herself was the manager and that there was nobody else available. I felt humiliated, bullied, and powerless during the interaction.nnI am deeply concerned that someone with such discriminatory attitudes and unprofessional behaviour is in a management position. It makes me question whether Coles encourages this type of conduct, or whether this reflects a broader systemic issue within the Coles group.
The customer service was incredibly poor and slow. The girls working there were very rude. I waited ten minutes in line to get my groceries scanned and paid. They were talking to a lady at reception and completely ignored the customers waiting behind me. It was very selfish.
I think it might be a little smaller then the one in Croydon. But it was good and they had some nice specials. I'm new to the area so great to have a coles close by
Disappointing experience at this store again. The self-service checkout today was frustrating and inefficient, with multiple issues and no meaningful assistance from the two attendants on duty. Both appeared present but disengaged, and I felt unsupported while trying to quickly complete my shopping with a young child.nnThis is particularly concerning given that on my previous visit, a medical emergency occurred involving two elderly customers, and staff did not respond until after I had already stepped in and called an ambulance.nnCustomer service and staff attentiveness at this store appear to be consistently lacking. I would strongly encourage management to address both training and staffing levels.
Coles Ringwood is excellent! The store is always well stocked, staff are friendly, and checkout is fast. I love how clean and organized everything is. Shopping here is stress-free and efficient. Definitely my go-to for groceries in the area, highly recommend it to everyone.
