Update - now there is a barrier where you need to scan a receipt to leave. Watched a guy with several bags in his hands just struggle with what to do. Of course, no check outs open for this guys big shop.nnAbsolutely shameful what is happening here. Watching the elderly and parents struggle to shop. This was our main shop and now I avoid it at all cost. Horrible to young families and the elderly, the people spending and that have spent the most money at Coles. Came to do a big shop, checked and saw no cashiers so I went to Aldis. Not worth the additional effort ringing and bagging myself with kids while my whole family is video taped up close like were some suspicious criminal family. Why does my 2 year need to be video taped for me to buy food?!? Even if me or my 2 year old did steal some burrito wraps it's not like the police are going follow it up. All the isles are filled with half drunk and eaten food, so the cameras need to be pointed elsewhere I guess. Those dang teens are always ditching stolen half eaten stuff on the shelves. Me and the 2yrs hate those teens. And we also don't like Coles and were essentially Coles free minus a few items. The self check outs turn what was a fun family event into an dreaded life admin task. Plus Alias is really cheap and the green grocery next to Aldis is actually quite nice - both have cashiers, like back in the 1800s. Coles: do the right thing and change this back, my dad in the States said all the stores did this and all had to change back within a year. So I'm hoping the same happens hear. Give teens a public facing role, let them handle money, learn some communication skills. Cant do a big shop here anymore. Coles! BRING BACK THE BIG SHOP!
I love this Coles store, the staff are always friendly and helpful and they have a great range of stock. Fruits and veggies are always fresh, the layout of the store is easy to remember and loads of parking. Their click and collect is outstanding, every time it is packed with care, especially fragile items like bread, never had a squashed loaf!
It's ok although why you would choose here when Eastland is within walking distance and you've got Woolies and Coles and both big store, is beyond me.nI would skip this one.nParking here can be not the best at times too. There's a largish carpark but it fills quickly and is also fairly tight for driving.
There are no longer any assisted checkouts. At all. It is absolutely terrible. Why would they do this to one of the nicer Coles? It’s one of the only ones around not hidden in a shopping centre, but now they are making it so inaccessible! It’s such a shame as the staff are lovely.
Not sure what the method behind the madness is, but seeing markdowns for products one day prior to the date of expiry are laughable; at 5% or 10% off RRP this will rarely incentivize others to pick them up and compromise freshness. Worse still, by the time the 50% markdowns come through... The product is already at expiry or past it. At that point, almost nobody but the very desperate or starving will buy them, or risk their health and wellbeing. Furthermore, if such expired products are then discarded... Doesn't that just mean more wastage than potential sales? Coles used to be so much better, but these days... Probably better off visiting Aldi or Woolies to save.
