Story

We are Australia's tallest rock climbing gym with climbs up to 23m, with one wall featuring more than 20 metres of continual overhang. There is stuff for everyone including loads of shorter beginner walls, an inward leading slab at 16m, an 16m rope ladder. We are open 4pm-10pm on weekdays and 10am - 6pm on weekends, but have extended hours during school holidays and public holidays. We are also open to schools, groups and birthdays at other times. I love Cliffhanger. It's has some of the highest walls in Victoria with plenty of challenges throughout the entire gym. The climbing ratings are more or less spot on. They sell gear within the store itself as very reasonable prices, and rental is also on par with what you'd expect from a climbing gym.

They even have climbing classes you can attend if you don't have a partner to climb with.

They could do with a few extra self belaying walls (only 2 at the time of this review), but since any at all is unexpected, I didn't take a star off for this.

I won't be getting tired of going to Cliffhanger anytime soon.

In my opinion this is hands down the best climbing gym in Melbourne. 
Extremely friendly and highly professional staff, which are all experienced climbers and always excited to share stories and advice of trips and climbing. 
Weekly technique classes are incredible, the routes are amazing and the choice of climbs is extensive. New routes happening all the time, and loads of fun activities getting organised.

Fun and friendly environment. Easy parking. Could do with a touch of paint, but otherwise plenty of beginner walls. Can't judge the 20+ rating walls.

Took my daughter down for a try and see. Very accommodating, professional, relaxed and safe environment.  Great variety of climbs/grades. Really enjoyed it.

Great climb gym for all ages. Tons of low grade stuff for beginners, wide range of odd ball stuff and just a good variety climbs you can’t really find in any other indoor gym. Auto belay setup and even 2 bouldering ares for people who happen to come alone. Overall I’d say the place has pretty good vibes and I recommend it highly. It’s a good changeup from northwalls and hard rock for sure.
