Walked in for dinner as we were staying nearby, were lucky to get a table - definitely recommend booking. Staff were friendly but recommend using the QR code to order drinks, would have waited a very long time to order another drink otherwise. We opted for the pre-theatre banquet mainly to avoid having to choose what to eat and highly recommend this. Plenty of food, so much so we barely ate the mains, great value for the price. Poached chicken salad and duck buns were stand outs - I will come back just for these. Cocktails were delicious also!
Enjoyed an amazing Saturday lunch here. Booked for 1215 and was seated straight away. All cocktails and food came out fresh, fast, and delicious. Zero complaints on taste, texture, or timing. It's been awhile since we've dined at a perfect venue. Will return.
What an absolute fantastic spot to have a pre-theatre dinner. The service is very friendly and so attentive. The portions are much more generous than I expected, and most importantly, the food was absolutely fantastic. I'll be back for the duck buns and chilli oil crisp alone. They open early so you can order al la carte, or they have a pre-show menu which hits all the highlights and is guaranteed to get you out on time. Definitely worth a try!
I consider this place my best food experience in Brisbane- the food, service and ambience are perfect! I stopped for dinner here as I find the name funny “Chu The Phat Fat?! I love the Barramundi cooked in coconut and turmeric - crispy skin, smooth meat and yummy sauce. The duck buns are so good too, and continue with the katsu chicken which is also awesome. Staffs knew and explained the food very well. Saw the chefs cooking non stop with dedication. Vegetarian options: Pumpkin, Bok Choy, Broccoli.. Parking: Park a few blocks away and walk here Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible to Ground floor seating
Food is always great. I've been here multiple times. I've also had the lunch and dinner banquet. Quality is great, quantity could be increased, more for the entree banquet items. I want more than 1 dumpling love the food. Will always return. Staff are great!Food: 5/5
My partner and I came here for dinner for our 10 year anniversary and enjoyed the Banquet #1 menu. We were given a complementary a glass of bubbly which was so lovely! The food was amazing and the whole vibe of the place was incredible. The service from every person was top tier. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
OMG THIS PLACE the restaurant is SO nice and the food is DELICIOUS!! We order duck buns, chicken stir fry, cauliflower w cheddar and butter and some other things and EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOOD!! the cauliflower w cheddar and butter was actually above expectation!! The bao bread is SO good. A lot of good flavours and spices!! Also, Joey has been amazing he has been an outstanding server and lovely guy he is very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great advice!! Thanks joey!!!! You are the best!!
This place is amazing. The staff super amazing, kind and friendly. Joey was as waitress and was awesome . Price is normal , not cheap not expensive, but if you think about the price and quality is really good . Break bao is the best .
We're semi-regulars at Chu the Phat, typically on the 50/50 Fridays. The food and cocktails are perfection. The staff are great. It's just a great place to finish off a week or at any time really.Recommended dishesDuck Buns
We had a great meal at Chu The Phat. The food was outstandingly good! They certainly don't skimp on the portions and the meals are value for money! For entree we shared the poached chicken salad. It was light, fresh, full of delicious delicately poached chicken tossed with herbs, micro greens and ginger in a light Asian dressing. Mains were Coral Coast crispy skin Barramundi fillet in a sweet coconut curry broth, with herbs and steamed rice and the Apple Glazed Beef Ssam. The fish was cooked beautifully, crispy and swimming in a bowl of curry. The beef was served Korean style with lettuce and shiso leaves, daikon, kimchi, mayo, and fermented red pepper sauce to wrap it in. A side of green beans in XO sauce and steamed rice complemented the meal. Our food was perfectly presented, served hot with friendly, helpful service. The drinks were cold and whilst there is not an extensive cocktail list, they are good value and tasty. Highly recommended. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible and variable height table.
