First of all, I thought “TAFE” stood for “Teach And Forget Everything”—because that’s exactly what happened. I enrolled in a course at the Berwick campus and somehow graduated with the same level of knowledge I walked in with... minus the will to live.nnThe classrooms? Felt like they were decorated by a sad IKEA employee on their lunch break. WiFi only worked when you didn’t need it, and the computers were so slow I think they were powered by hamster wheels.nnOne time I asked for help and got directed to three different people, who each said, “That’s not my job.” I started to wonder if I had accidentally enrolled in a scavenger hunt instead of a diploma.nnThe best part of the whole experience was the vending machine. At least that delivered on its promises.nnSave yourself the pain—watch YouTube tutorials instead. Or just stare at a wall. Same result, less student debt.
An institution with 0 integrity.nn- Plagiarism, use of AI and collusion are all fine.n- Fees are charged at an hourly rate, usually DOUBLE the amount of hours provided.n- students are regularly enrolled in the incorrect unitsn- Social isolation between students with different backgrounds is encouraged, as not all students speak enough English to converse in plain language.n- Content is repetitive and drawn out unnecessarilyn- Safety precautions are NOT followed during health based courses, allowing students who have broken numerous precautions multiple times to continue practicing on other students.n- Assessments are rushed and take weeks to be markedn- Teachers are not mandated to hold class for the duration listed on the time tablen- Quiz based assessments are often riddled with technical difficulties which results in answers being incorrect no matter the answer providedn- The placement team are incredibly unorganised in regards to the information providedn- Frequently the resources provided by Chisholm are out of date and/or entirely incorrectnnThis institution is unreliable and untrustworthy; and they do not care.
I have for the last 3 years been a hair model for this TAFE. I have been a very patient model and always let the students do what cut they want as long as I can tie it up. Have got some fantastic cuts too, only one bad. But never ever complained as I know they are only learning. I have waited for classes to come back and my hair needs doing. Obliviously they must have enough models. I have left 2 messages on there system without call back. I have contacted the 1300 number twice with a promise of a call back. I have yet to receive one. Finally I went in personally on a Wednesday. The teacher said she hasn't been on the campus for months and doesn't know how to get into the system. She took down my details and all the dates I can do in March. After one week no call back.nIf you don't need models then tell us. Don't waste my time
A great place, very friendly & helpful. Close to the train station. Literally just cross the road into a side entrance across from car yards.
I loved my experience here the teacher are very supportive and helped me a lot during my nursing studies, I struggled a lot they helped through tough times
