It's great that they have something different from other shops. Black sesame latte was nice and didn't taste like the ready made ones in some other places. Lotus chips were great. Takoyaki was good and didn't feel like the frozen version in many other shops. Fried chicken was nothing special and not authentic. The prices need to be lower to be competitive and keep the returning customers.
As a matcha fan, this place hits the spot. Offering rich matcha flavours, you get to pick the intensity of your soft serve: weak, standard or extremely strong. We picked the Hokkaido vanilla swirled with standard matcha ice cream and it was very good. The matcha had the right amount of bitterness and depth. Combined with the sweet vanilla, it is a great pairing. If you like matcha, highly recommend this place located inside Regent Place in Sydney Townhall area.
It has a wider area after a bit of renovation. What I recommend is matcha ice cream only. The rest is average. They try to be innovative; chips with matcha or garlic but taste similar to normal chips. Takoyaki seems from frozen product as well. Overall is good to try.
Came here Sunday avro for a snack. Music pumping, most tables full and dirty. It was unstaffed you can tell. You can use the screen to self serve, order through an app or order at the counter. Screen had 10% card surcharge. Order took about 15 mins. Self service cutlery and pick up. We got the fried chicken with matcha mayo, takoyaki, yuzu-nade and strong matcha + hokkaido milk soft serve in a cup. The takoyaki was gooey on the inside, savoury! Tasted pretty good! The fried chicken was tender and juicy. It looked like a cutlet that was battered, fried and cut up so not every edge was crispy. The matcha mayo was interesting. Different and balanced the greasiness. I think it needed some tartness or the chicken needed a sweet sauce so it all comes together. The yuza-nade was disappointing, its not carbonated and tasted like the pre-made citron jam tea you can but in a jar. The soft serve had great flavour, strong matcha was mature and bitter and balances well with hokkaido milk which tastes like white rabbit icecream. The texture was not fluffy but liquidy and icy.
Matcha heaven! I love their soft serves and floats - the matcha is top quality. They also have strawberry cake and hojicha too, and currently black sesame highly recommend
The matcha ice cream here with liquid nitrogen is epic especially with their presentation. Tastes not that bad either. Definitely recommend trying it out for a change to the standard bubble tea and dessert cafe. Regards @fooderarriFood: 5/5
If you want to re-live being in Japan, this is the place to go! Everything matcha and it tastes so good. Love all their dessert choices. I had a sundae and it was yum. Lots of bits and pieces like daifuku, red bean and puffed rice. Tables inside and outside. Would recommend highly!
Been visiting this place for many years used to stay in the cbd. Still loving their matcha dessert so far. Couldnt understand why the one in World Square is already gone. Always busy here. Went today and found that it has slightly expanded. More seatings, there is a self-ordering machine too. crowded as always. Staff was so busy until not taking orders so the self-ordering machine is great. Their menu changes from time to time which i think is good. Will still visit this place whenever going to the city.
Recently renovated. This place has always been a destination for any matcha desserts and drinks for food lovers alike. The new space is looking modern and more spacious than before. Menu items are unchanged with various drinks, desserts and hot bar items. They have now installed a self serve touch screen order helps with the large amount of people on the weekend which I found quite useful. My favourite order is the matcha yakult tea and their matcha and houjicha lattes. Even though they are famous for their soft serves but I didn’t like it as much because of too icy and lack of matcha flavour.
Nice spot to get dessert after a meal in the city. They have a variety of flavours and the ice cream there is the best. The floats have downgraded in quality since they added ice cubes and the ice cream ratio is off, but overall still a very nice place to grab dessert
