Christian Brothers College was founded in 1878 and is a Roman Catholic independent secondary college for boys. It is part of the Association of Edmund Rice schools. The school was founded by the Mec Brothers, the Brothers are no longer involved in the running the school. It is located in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda East.HistoryCBC St Kilda, founded in 1878, is one of the oldest private boys schools in Melbourne. It is a member of the Association of Catholic Colleges. In addition to its St Kilda East site, the college has had a second campus in Balaclava since 2008.

nn0 stars if that were possible.nnMy experience at this school was traumatic and unsafe. As a student, I repeatedly tried to speak up about being abused by the Year 8 coordinator. Every time I attempted to tell other students or raise concerns about what was happening to me, I was silenced and shut down rather than supported.nnDuring an incident with the Year 8 coordinator, I was punched in the stomach and pinned to the ground. I was also subjected to threats that left me genuinely fearful. I experienced aggressive and intimidating behaviour from multiple members of leadership, including the Director of Students, who I felt was violent toward me. The Year 7 and Year 8 coordinators would gang up on me, threaten me, harass me, and treat me unfairly.nnInstead of properly investigating these serious concerns, false allegations were made against me. I was not given a fair opportunity to explain my side, and I was ultimately expelled based on those allegations.nnThe school failed completely in its duty of care. No child should ever feel unsafe, threatened, or unheard at school. Based on my personal experience, I strongly advise others not to attend this school.
A warm nurturing and very inclusive environment for both students and families. School strength is providing forums etc for students themselves to be involved in decision making and to have their ideas genuinely heard - very empowering. My daughter feels secure and empowered having moved to SMC from an all girls at Yr 11. I look forward to seeing St M's College grow from strength to strength as a progressive Co-Ed.
if you are considering a inner city school for your child look no further than St Mary's College. A school that started last year but has had a slow start with all things considering COVID etc.nIt is an up and coming school trying to make a difference for both girls and boys, respectable relationships ,exploring new courses for both academic and non academic students, a great music and art dept as well as sport, with a future in supporting a women's AFL program.nEven though the school maybe under the catholic umbrella it is a very inclusive and diverse school. I have three children in various year levels that are thriving in this environment of nurturing our future leaders. It is a school that cares about our kids. Having spoken to new parents who have changed schools this year they have been delighted in the way their child has been treated as an individual and with such respect.nThe school empowers our kids to become great adults through enriching pastrol care programs, developing respectful relationships this is met by a leadership team as well as teachers that have our kids needs at the forefront .
its so bad. I wouldn't send my own kids here. it's always a constant battle with the students and teachers. It is funny but very bad. I got bullied alot still do and teachers dont really do anything. they always come back. also there are alot of vape dealers around the school and theres a lass who was selling it to randoms. however the toilets are 10/10
Major drawcard as the ONLY co-ed Catholic Secondary School in the area. We joined in Year 9, in the middle of Melbourne covid lockdowns. Very welcoming to the school, and great comms working out subjects and classes to accomodate her as she enrolled so close to the start of the year. Amazing community feel with staff, students and P&F events. So glad we made the move.
