Came here last Tuesday for dinner. We were quite confused entering the place as no one was there to welcome us. This was quite disappointing, especially considering we had made a reservation and it was not a busy Tuesday night. Our order included BBQ seafood, Marinara Linguine, and Lobster Mornay. The BBQ Seafood comprised Moreton bay bug, scallops, prawn, fish of the day and salad, but the portion size was quite small considering the price. The Marinara Linguine was cooked well, though the sauce was not memorable. The Lobster was the highlight of the night. Their drinks menu is also good. I would definitely come back here for the lobster and drinks. However, our experience was dampened by the service. The waitress appeared unfamiliar with the menu, which was surprising for a high-end restaurant. Initially, she informed us that the lobster was live and she will inform us of the price when they weigh it. Alternatively, she mentioned a 'not live, but still quite fresh' option at a lower price. Her exact words were "not fresh but still fresh. You know what I mean". When we asked where it was on the menu, she kept saying that having no eyeglasses was not helping because she cannot read the menu very well and couldn't find it. Seriously? I have never experience this type of attitude in a restaurant. Perhaps she could have asked for assistance if she was unsure. I hope the staff would get more training.
Thank you Gambaro team for your excellent service and sublime food! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot & cold seafood platters. The kingfish crudo was mouthwatering. We also loved the fresh oysters and tomato risotto.Food: 5/5
Had a great meal with the family, celebrating a special occasion. The service wasnprompt, friendly and we were made to feel welcome. The food was really good. I do wish we knew that the fish came with salad. Because it wasn't listed on the menu, we ordered a side salad which was a waste of money.Food: 4/5

Enjoyed dinner here had the hot & cold seafood platter. Worth every dollar. Seafood was fresh & full of flavour. The sauces to accompany were beautiful on clams, oysters and thousand island for the prawns. The cooked seafood was done beautifully. Very hard to find a place that doesn’t over cook the seafood & they nailed it. Plenty of seafood to fill 2 people. The service was great, the staff catered to every need. Very friendly and conversed politely. When our glasses were empty they would refill or offer to get us another beverage. They ensured they took our shell bowl when it was full and placed a clean empty one there. They had wet wipes to clean our hands in between. Atmosphere was lovely.
It’s a nice spot for a date night. Wasn’t blown away with the food and it’s in a hotel that feels a little dated but the staff are great.Food: 4/5
If you are looking for a seafood restaurant that is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced Then Gambaro must be among the top choices! The seafood here is absolutely fresh and sweet We ordered Oyster, scallops, squid, crab and lobster Everything is very fresh and sweet Pair with red wine or champagne It's really a great enjoyment Especially recommend the crab unique sauce It tastes like Asian flavor and Italian flavor. I really like it And Gambaro's service can be said to be very professional and warm! They also take care of the fact that some of us are in wheelchairs, which is very considerate! Desserts are also sweet but not greasy! If you don’t know where to eat on the weekend Or it’s a family or friend’s birthday, It is highly recommended to go to Gambaro to enjoy their best seafood and warmest service
From the minute we walked in the service was amazing. Our waiter looked after us very well. I didn’t get his name, but he was a Filipino waiter. My daughter went and tipped him $50. Lol as for the food the cold platter was fresh. Hot platter was amazing the lobster linguine and the marinara was absolutely on point. Such great food great atmosphere couldn’t fault the place. It was a little expensive, but very well worth it. Thanks guys my daughters mum enjoyed her birthday. Definitely will be back. Parking: There wasn’t much parking it was full by the time I got there at 5:30 but that’s cool. Found parking on the street. Kid-friendliness: My kid loved it. Specially the cheesy pasta.
A mixed review for us on this occasion. My wife and I visited for our Anniversary for dinner as I had always wanted to dine here. Entrees were delicious, but the mains were mixed in results. My wife's main meal was absolutely lovely, mine not so much. Linguini marinara, had flavour but many pieces of fish not even cooked, and a few scales on them as well. Very disappointing considering the price. When I advised the manager he simply said sorry about that sir and took the plate away! Luckily the waitress we had was lovely and my wife's food was really nice so a 4 star from me.
Had an awesome early Father’s Day dinner. Service was amazing and we felt well taken care of. It’s hard to find Lobster Thermidor in Brisbane and dad said they did it really well. Fish we had was delicious too. They were happy to cater for me as I can’t have dairy or egg. Some car parks underneath which helped us a lot too. Thank you team!
