This is the only cafe near TRI and it’s pretty good. I’ve tried a few items here, there’s decent variety but it’s a bit on the expensive side. The sushi was pretty good, some vegetarian options too. Haven’t tried the coffee here, only the food. Seems to be adequate tables unless it’s rush hour. Overall not a bad cafe and there aren’t a lot of other ones close by.
has healthy food but quite costly, even ketchup cost additional money. Food taste is medicore and chicken is quite dry. picture was a grilled chicken burger daily special. chicken was burnt and a bit dry, not very flavorful but overall wasn't inedible. Quick bite if you are in TRI or near the hospital.
Great coffee and great food. Had pasta of the day carbonara and was cooked perfectly. Staff were excellent and it was reasonably priced.
It was a lovely Cafe, with the smell of freshly roasted Coffee Beans. Fresh sandwiches and beautiful cakes on display. The service was wonderful, welcoming & friendly. Clean store with a delightful outdoor seating area around a water fountain. Will come again, a must try is the Chocolate Brownies.
Half a decade ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the Translational Research Institute for the first time, and not long after, I had a job there. More important than the beauty of the facility, is the quality of the coffee at Cafe Catalyst, and the consistently wonderful staff. Perhaps I should be ashamed of this, but sometimes I can't help but return for a second coffee in the same day. Often, it is the promise of Cafe Catalyst that gives me the energy to leave my apartment and head to work. Sadly, as I write this, it is too late for coffee, so I shall reflect fondly until tomorrow morning. :
Food was good. However, Café Catalyst is accelerating the destruction of our environment. No excuses for getting unsolicited plastic cup and straw.
The food is pretty good for the price. They have a small kitchen though so be prepared for a long ass wait, especially around lunch. The coffee is good if your office doesn't have instant but really there's a Toby's Estate just around the corner.
Amazing little cafe! All the food is fresh and delicious. It gets very busy but the staff are super efficient and friendly. I was amazed by how many coffees they serve and i was worried that the quality wouldn't be as good but the coffee is the best! If I know im going past there in the morning I will hold off having my morning coffee elsewhere.
Great coffee, lovely location.
My colleague and I were treated appalingly by the cafe manager this week. We had purchased our drinks and and just got settled down onto a table when the manager walked up and unleashed this tirade on us about checking in. The moment he questioned us, I apologised and quickly picked up my phone to check in. He, whether situationally unaware of my actions or just didn't care, continued berating us. He ranted on about how security is watching our every move and that he got into trouble with the police about COVID check ins?! He said, in a condescending manner: "you guys go out, you SHOULD know that you are SUPPOSED to check in. He goes: "I don't mean to be an arseh*le, BUT..." Now when someones puts a BUT onto the end of the sentence like that, you know that they actually do mean to be one. Now here comes the 'flex', he says: "I even had to BAN A DOCTOR from here". Throughout this rant, his tone was incredibly disrespecful, he spoke down to us and the whole experience was so distasteful. He carried on about how the cafe may be shut down if everyone does not check in. Well, if the manager is speaking to customers this way, then they may well be shut down anyways. Obviously, this manager is very frustrated about customers not signing in and has taken it out on us in a very rude and unprofessional manner. PRO TIP even though he doesn't deserve it: get customers to sign in when they pay at the counter. Yes, I do go out, and this is how other businesses do it. I do not appreciate being a punching bag over poorly thought out processes. Just to sum, up and you guys know where I am going with this.. I am never going back there despite years of being a loyal customer.
