This practice seems to be failing alot of its patients. Phone consultations I was told are the norm now. This was from somebody I had never met but was reviewing my medical notes. How did I know she as actually a real Dr ?
Do not join this practice. The ONE doctor is never there, he boasts about having lots of high-risk patients but never sees them and doesnt fill urgent prescriptions. The doctor has his fingers in too many pies to focus on this practice. No nurse practitioner either - after the one who had to see every patient because the doctor was elsewhere left the practice. Everything on their website about care, communication, and competence is lies. This practice is historically aggressive and aloof when verbally informed of issues patients have with the practice and services they have received or lack thereof. Upon making verbal complaints, they are abusive, and have an "if you dont like it, leave" attitude - knowing full well that other practices in Whanganui do not have the capacity to take on new patients. Nurses who happen to be the daughter of the practice manager will enter into verbal arguments with patients when complaints are made at reception and then terminate the enrollment of entire families as a result. This complaint will have no resolution as they see no issues with their poor practice, but other reviews here and on community pages resonate with this review. The practice manager does not care about resolving issues or acknowledging complaints. A complaint to the HDC will be done against this practice. DO NOT GO HERE - it is NOT worth it.
They are the most useless nursing/doctors staff I have ever come across. We have had multiple problems with this place. My husband had an appointment on a Monday they cancelled that appointment and changed it for the Tuesday he had to have a ECG test done have bloods and get more meds and be refered to a heart doctor they knew all this its pretty urgent as was sent all the info from Waikato hospital as he ended up in there while we were away and had paperwork on him and had shown them, a nurse done the ECG test but didn't know how to read it so had to make another appointment for the following week as there is no doctors there to do so, pretty slack they should know how to do there job and should always have a doctor there for these types of things. We're having to go up to Wam everytime us or our kids are sick because they don't have any appointments or free spots for anyone to get checked. I think instead of opening and putting all there time into these other places that they have opened like skin clinic, rest home ECT they need to be and concentrate on this go clinic so everyone gets the right treatment and can actually get appointments and not have to wait weeks because of limited staff and whatever other excuses they come up with.
The most UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE “practice” I have ever experienced. They should not be open. Was never contacted/called for a phone appointment and when I called them they said I would have to wait another week to see a doctor. ZERO compassion. DO NOT GO HERE!
The receptionist and manager Kylie Wagstaff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had made an appointment to see the doctor one month in advance. Upon turning up I found I had been put with someone else. My appointment was a follow up one and the doctor was going to discuss information from previous appointment. When I questioned Kylie why I was not informed of the change, she responded with they "were busy". They knew a week and half earlier that the doctor was unable to keep his appointment. I said it was unprofessional and I should of been notified of the change beforehand. Kylie responded that they "do not tolerate that kind of behaviour". I questioned her, I didn't abuse. I said I would like to make a complaint. She handed me a form. Today I got a letter saying my enrollment and my daughters is terminated due to my "abuse". This is a disgusting way to handle a complaint when Kylie was in the wrong in the first place. I will be making an official complaint. The rest of the staff at Castlecliff health were great to deal with.
This practice would get zero stars if it was an option. Do NOT enrol with them as there is NO doctor onsite, he's too busy doing other work. I'm disgusted they feel it's ok for their patients not to see a Dr and refer them to WAM. Kylie you are the practice manager, you need to do your job and not be defensive, you are dealing with peoples lives. I will be making a Health and Disability Commissioner complaint regarding this clinic and no doctor appointments being available and encourage others to do the same.
Oh they are great if you like waiting 2 weeks for an appointment only to see the nurse but still pay doctors rates. Seen the doctor once in 3 years, get the nurse every other time. Never appointments available when you need them. Absolutely ridiculous.

Highly recommended. All the staff are welcoming and put you at ease with their friendliness and professionalism. Beautiful new centre in Rakau Road. Their fees are $37. I was paying $53 at my last GP
