Wow, I always enjoy dinner at this place. Their chilli dogs are good, coupled with their fries and wings, perfect dinner. I suggest going for the ballers club if eating for 2 as this comes with 2 chilli dogs, 8 wings, and stacked chips all for $36. Not too bad. There isn't a great deal of space for dining in if you're going with a crowd, but 2 ppl can find a spot with ease.
To be honest I feel cheated as I relied on the 4.1 star average rating of your Morningside branch before I decided to treat my family something nice and I am still trying to figure out how this rating is possible. I have tried buffalo wings in 4-5 different restaurants only in Brisbane and yours is - excuse my language but - by far the worst and least buffalo-like wings. Very dry, more than just overcooked, barely any sauce on it to make it taste like "Buffalo" wings. Also ordered ribs which tasted "ok" but for $30 that's not a full rack. Could easily get a full meal with better ribs elsewhere can name the restaurants - not low budget either - but won't advertise for the same price also with some decent sides included yours only came with a pinch of potato salad that was put in a small plastic sauce container - no joke Very disappointed and upset that I wasn't able to entertain the folks at home. Now returning the wings for a refund although I have to drive all the way back after a full day's work - that's how bad they were - and I wasn't even offered this by your staff until I have specifically asked for a solution, all I initially got was a dry "Sorry about that".
I've followed Carolinas Kitchen from Coorparoo then to the Bowls Club down the Road now to Morningside. The best Chillie Dogs and Wings in Town.
We had a couple cheeseburgers, the slaw, and some wings which were all very good. The homemade barbecue sauce on the wings here is the bomb and they are cooked in the crispy style which is how they should be done. Definitely going to go back and try out the ribs soon.
Waited an hour. Should've advised us when we walked in it would be awhile. Nope, happy to take our money and all of the internet orders that give in store customers a false sense of where they are in line. We had to ask 3 times where our food was. We had planned to dine in but it took so long that we got bumped off our table for a reservation that arrived. What a joke. Smoke filled the store too. Burning burgers smoke with no apology. Or they need better ventilation. Forgot chips from our order and my chicken burger was now a beef burger. Such a failure of service from this place. AND WILL NOT RETURN.
Friendliest staff I have ever interacted with. The owner of the shop is a great guy and really tries to get to know his customers, the owner and his staff really make the place feel like home. Quality of food is excellent, and although I believe it is a little expensive, I don't mind paying that little bit extra for the brilliant service and kind staff. I just can't emphasise enough that the customer service is really just sensational, and because of this service, The Carolina kitchen has earned a place in my heart as my favorite restaurant.
No Frills, good value for money Southern-style American cuisine. Burgers aren't visually spectacular but very delicious. Fries with the pulled pork are another highlight. Also, not a lot of seating space at this location if you're looking to eat in a little more at the Coorparoo location
So tasty and simple. We got the carolina pack ribs/fries/wings and a chilli dog. Absolutely beautiful, the meat on the ribs was so soft, falling off the bone and lovely and smokey. Wings were so crisp and spicy. The fries were sooo tasty and light too. The service was friendly and quick despite the fact that we practically showed up at closing time you guys are absolute champions. Will certainly be coming back again :
The young lady taking orders at the counter seemed a bit "distant" and vague. She kept getting distracted by other things while taking my, and other people's, orders. One other couple waiting at the seating area commented that they had been waiting 30 minutes for their relatively small order of two hotdogs and fries... had I heard this comment earlier I'd have gone somewhere else. In the end, my two item order took 20 minutes. The gourmet burger was pretty average, but the "small fries" I ordered were pretty big, and tasted delicious as they were covered in cheese. I also feel sorry for the Foodora pickup courier that tried several times to get the attention of, and show his phone to, the lady taking orders, but again, her mind was elsewhere. All in all, the food was okay, but personally I wouldn't come back in a hurry.
Would never go there again. Food took so long to come out. Took ober half hour to get chips that were burnt and cold then out came the wings 10 mins later. They were over cooked to the point that the flesh was dry and cover in sauce to add flavour. The chilli dog tasted and looked like spew. When i told them that i was not happy i was told ooooh well. Would never go back and would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
