Really nice spot upstairs we has a view of the whole beach and were right next to the balcony. The food was really yummy! Had the pork belly, fried rice, dumplings YUM, and the potato cakes. Everything was absolutely delicious and really good size for an entree price. Perfect for sharing with friends!! Cocktails were delicious too The only thing I would say is that I wanted more options for the lunch menu, although we were still very satisfied with what we ordered !!
We held our Christmas party in the palm room for lunch and drinks. It was fantastic! We had a small area to ourselves, the staff printed menus with our business name and allowed us to rename some cocktails to make it fun! They were very attentive and accommodated us well, the food was delicious!
Visiting Oz for the first time, finding myself on biz in Melbourne, not knowing where to spend the offday. Messaged an old mate born in Melbourne but living in Belgium yeah..obvious really... and he said i must go here, his fave old haunt. I decided to walk 90 mins to get there, enjoyed what i saw along the way and arrived hungry and thirsty. Fortunately, he will remain my mate coz this was a great recommend. Lovely grub, bountiful bev choice, live music, happy customers all around, bang on the fine St.Kilda beach. What more do you want? Spot on
We had the banquet on Sunday afternoon and there was soo many drunk people from their boozy brunch. The food was okay not amazing, the main problem was the wait staff they just dumped the food not explaining what it is, they even served us a bottle of wine with the lid still on. I understand there is a lack of wait staff out there but a few small Things like explaining what food we are eating and opening the wine would have been sufficient.
Came here for Boujee brunch and had a great time. We had an excellent waiter, our food was delicious and plenty, and the cocktails were awesome. After brunch we stayed on, and they reserved us a table by the ocean front. Very impressed with the whole arrangement. Would recommend and will be back.
Venue and drinks great but the lunch menu is limited. Needs to be more choice. Prices are reflective of dinner prices not lunch. No one there for Sat lunch, probably due to restrictive menu and high prices. Staff however were friendly and attentive
Have been here a couple of times for work Christmas parties. Really great place - love the atmosphere! Staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Food and cocktails are delicious. Captain Baxter overlooks the beach; with the sun setting at night, it makes for a stunning view.Food: 5/5
What a great place especially on a sunny, Sunday afternoon. Right on the beach. Upstairs, great views of the beach. And only $7 for a zero beer. Great snacks too. Just love it up here.
We had a beautiful event held at Captain Baxter for 40 people. From the incredible service, to the food and accommodating staff, we could not have been happier! Will definitely be coming back!!
I had my 30th birthday event in the beautiful South Atrium room. The staff were extremely professional and attentive to every detail. I highly recommend holding your event at Captain Baxter. Thanks for everything! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Parking: Tons of parking in the underground public paid car park. Dietary restrictions: They had great options for all dietary requirements and were very open to catering according.
