Tom Meredith has done our tax return twice now, him and his team are an absolute pleasure to deal with. He's very knowledgeable and thorough, and goes above and beyond for his clients - no job too big or small. Unlike with other tax agents (including the big ones advertising everywhere), the price is very reasonable for the fantastic service they offer. Thank you Tom for making tax time so easy for us!

I’m not usually one for poor reviews and negative feedback however in the wake of my recent experience with Capital Q I was left with no other options short of warning other possible clients as to my experience with this agency. I will admit my experiences with accounting firms are limited however there were a few key indicators from early on in my working relationship with Tom Meredith and the team at Capital Q that should have warned as to the nature of the service I would receive from this agency, Initially Tom advised me that my current bank account was not interactive with Xero which forced me to fly back to Australia at great cost in order to set up a series of new bank accounts. Less than a month later it was confirmed that my existing account was actually compatible all along. No apology or acknowledgement was forthcoming. My first invoice from Capital Q was presented as a lump sum with no itemised costs presented for explanation and analysis, when queried ‘I was told that this was not how it is done in the industry’ and had to argue to receive an explanation for what I was being billed for. This also struck me as very odd, especially from an accounting firm. Communication via email was of a very low standard and requests were regularly missed or ignored, and so after 2 years of less than satisfactory service I realised I was being charged for services that had not been completed. When I advised of my decision to move to another agency and requested a credit for the tasks not completed, (which included personal tax returns, lodgement of BAS, and annual tax planning.) - I was threatened with closure of my Xero account and no explanation for the credit notes that I know I will never receive. The tone adopted by Duncan and Tom was threatening and unprofessional and if the disputed amount wasn’t for a few hundred dollars I would have bothered to lodge a legal dispute. I am completely disappointed and frustrated because I was billed for work not completed and then threatened when requesting due compensation. There are a lot of accounting firms out there and I guarantee you can find a better one than Capital Q. I certainly have.

Tom Meredith has exceeded all my expectations of what an accountant can be. After having a negative experience in the past, he has restored my faith by being transparent, open and honest, timely and hard working. He really has gone above and beyond. Thank you Tom and the team at Capital Q, you will be my accountants for life!

Duncan and Tom have been my accountant for 10 years. Always on top of things and pro-active in their advice. Happy to recommend to anyone that wants good advice for a reasonable price.
