This used to be a great place to camp however it’s been turned into a tightly-packed caravan park.nAwnings are almost touching the next caravan and even worse if you’ve got a slide-out you can’t fully extend your awning.nNot sure if it’s greed or just a lack of understanding why people choose a show-ground over a caravan park.nJust a shame to see such a great place ruined.
This is a. Lovely place to stay $13 unpowered.nAll facilities, beautiful scenery, a river where you can camp.nClose to Canungra township.nDenise was friendly, a great help
Whether for a day, night, week or weeks, this beautiful location comes with a freshwater creek, well maintained facilities and the choice of powered or non powered sites.nGrab a chair and sit in the creek with a beverage or two in hand whilst being serenaded by the kookaburras, birds and crickets. Then at night, sit by the firepit and breathe in the ambiance.nA nice Staycation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Sites had lots of space, great area within walking distance to the pub, shops etc. dog friendly, could do with more toilets and showers for the size of the campsite.
NEW YEARS 2023/4 Weather was crud. Flooding and storms around..but this was a top camp spot. Great camp kitchen and great showers. Very quiet although very full. Great creek to swim and play in out of the heat with large shady areas to sit under if you want to watch kids in water or have a group picnic. No mozzie.. unreal. Loads of places to explore nearby and only 30 min from Nerang and the M1 but there are scenic routes to get there which I used into the place. Lovely drive from Northside of Bris. 1 hr 35min.nThe little township of Canungra is lovely. Good Hotel/pub and markets. Even have free courtesy bus to and from this camp. Wineries nearby too. Had lunch at O'reillys Vineyard. Lovely old Qldr and grounds on a creek..would like to Camp there..but not offered. Llamas for kids too. Food expensive and in takeaway but sitdown style but I liked the Asian Chicken Salad and drinks of course.nnI will go back to Canungra Showgrounds Camping. *****
