The few times I've been here, both for myself and a friend, the wait time was not long, but they were all night time visits - what it's like in the day time I don't know?

Excellent patient care, food not bad either. I find the ER a downright tragedy. Extremely long waiting and when you're delivered by ambulance it takes way to long to get assessed and to be given medication. My husband an extreme high blood pressure and it took almost 2 hours to get him medication and ER doctor wanted to send him home  being admitted it is a totally different story!!! Though I must say that we are used to faster treatment and attendance in a 3rd world country!

I was unfortunate to have to go to  the cairns base hospital by ambulance as i had kidney stones i waited to be admitted i had surgery next day had a stent inserted and then told to go home no stone removed i then ended up in cairns private hospital and had the stone removed i would not recommend cairns base

Thank you for the staff at the Base hospital for taking great care of me and getting me seen too asap and doing all the tests for me, I am very grateful, i can sleep alot better tonight,  The staff were all so friendly and helpful and understanding. I know you all work long hours and have to put up with a lot from unruly and rude people. But i am just wanting to let you know that you all do a great job and i am grateful. THANK YOU.

Not happy how you treated my sick daughter and how rude the doctor and nurse speaking to her appalling behavior no excuse if your full. She had a referral from her doctor.
