Very nice cafe with good selection of food. Also has seating outside with nice views and was peaceful. Good customer service. Very pleasant.
The food was good, and they have a spacious area with clean toilets. Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of sweet baked goods to choose from, and it's such a large area that parents can find a place to hide the kids if they feel the need. Parking: It's within walking distance to free parking in the other side of the library or in the Kmart parking lot on the far side.
Traditional old school style cafe, but don’t let this put you off. Food is delicious, fresh, and good value given the generous portion sizes. No Pixie Portions here! Service from the friendly and helpful staff is also pretty much the best you’ll get in Hastings.
Lovely classic cafe at centre of town. Great coffee and good range of sweets and savoury foods. Decor is inkeeping with art deco building of surrounding area. Outside seating at roadside is pleasant under the floral hanging baskets. Staff are friendly and helpful
Great atmosphere and so much cabinet food to choose from. You will not be disappointed by the baked goods, absolutely delicious! They roast their own coffee beans in house, which is a great point of difference, and the blend is spot on!
Very poor custom service... actually there was none! Stood at the counter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged, while 3 staff members were fluffing about! I was with my daughters and grand children. I let another customer get ahead of us, as I knew we were a group with teenagers and toddlers, that take time getting their food. However I felt that this cafe obviously doesn't need new clients. Maybe should go to an international franchise that is quite happy taking my money! Support small nz business not this one again!
A large establishment with a large selection for most to choose from. Very main stream and not a great choice for vegan's. Occassionally they have a vegan filo Samosa, they are very yummy. If you are hungry, they do a vegan breakfast pictured. Its around $19, so a little pricey for what it is, but it certainly will full you up. Thanks Westermans for offering it on your menu! Would love to see a vegan mac cheese, so many people a dairy intolerant these does, so it's not just vegans wanting dairy free.
Fantastic ! Stopped in to Westermans Cafe this morning for an early breakfast with hubby and our one year old. We were all pleasantly satisfied on leaving. Best eggs benedict I've had in a while & hubby couldn't stop raving on about how good his pumpkin soup was. As for our boy, his plate of crepes was emptied fairly quickly. Prices are the average/usual cafe prices but well worth it. Lovely customer service to top it all off - will definitely be making this a regular visit when we stop in to Hastings again. Thank you !!!
Worst service had no time for us because we had 4 teens and two kids felt the whole time we where and inconvenience. When we where trying our best and got snaped at by checkout when asking questions. Happy to take 100 worth of profit but couldn't be bothered to give us grace .
Full breakfast wasn't too bad at $22.50. The cabinet food is very expensive. $4.80 for mini savouries or a meatball is pricey. Small club sandwich at $4.80 and a normal sandwich at $6 is possibly the highest pricing I've ever seen for basic food.
