This is a new must stop visit!! Gooseberry jam and sauce just YUM! Really enjoying my take home purchases. We stopped for a rest stop and got a raspberry sundae which was totally amazing!! A huge serving of fresh berries topped with enough ice-cream best ever!!

As a backpacker you usually meet all the friendly and nice people in New Zealand. But if you decide to work here as a fruitpicker then you will have a lot of trouble. You want to earn money? Not here, they don't pay you.

While it might look great on the consumer and customers side of things, it looks awful on the workers part. Neither are backpackers getting their pay checks in time, nor is it a fair and right amount. The way Butler's berry farm treat their employees is bitterly unprofessional and definitely a disgrace. Would not recommend this to anyone, rude and ungrateful owners who are just looking to rip young people off and get away with it. Very disappointing.

Worked there for nearly two month and never had a day without trouble. When you have a contract and do your part of it every day you expect your employer to do the same. Rudest employers I ever had. Berrys are good and the kitchen team is very friendly.

Friendly staff but very unfriendly owners. Berries are good but keep in mind that pickers don't get paid right and are treated badly. Own experience.
