It was close to the shopping centre and train station, which was a lovely walk, but just because it allows dogs, does not mean it is suitable for dogs. My dog badly injured himself trying to get up and down the stairs. There is nowhere for the dogs to run, nor any enclosed space for them to roam. The pull out couch was abysmal, and they had flashing outdoor Christmas lights on all night. We left after one night, even though we paid for two. Very expensive for what it is. Will never come back.

My second time staying in this place. So peaceful and quiet at night too. And it is 5-10min walk to the shops, to train station, and to Westfield. Very convenient. Bed is so soft. And the street where this lodge situated, I think the residents there really love gardening. The entire street smell very nice... gardenia, mockorange, it's pleasant to walk. Definitely will come back again.

Directly booked with the lodge and paid $414 for 3 people for 2 nights in the deluxe family suite accomodation including our 2 dogs. I was told the room would accommodate and be comfortable for us. On arrival I was so disappointed. The rooms were really small and it was a very tight squeeze for us and the dogs. On our first night the 3 of us and our dogs were quietly celebrating our daughters 21st in the bbq area. We didnt see any sign on the front gate not to shut it so we closed the front gate just incase one of our dogs got off their tied up lead. All of a sudden we were rudely interupted by one of the permanent lodgers that lives there who told us to keep the front gate open as he didnt want to walk the long way around to get into the back yard to smoke. He then sat down in the bbq area and lite up a ciggarette where we were eating. We quickly ate, packed up, took the streamers down and went back to the room very upset. Trying to sleep that night we found it so noisy with people coming and going all hours of the morning. The pull out couch my daughter slept on squeaked every time she rolled over. We all decided we couldnt bare one more night in this old decrepid run down rip off lodge, so we cut our losses and left the next day. I recommend to look around, as there are much better, cleaner, cheaper and friendlier lodgers to stay at.

Good staff. Room ok. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. Cleanliness in bathroom was average.

I had stayed at the the Burwood Boronia Lodge on previous occassions as it is convenient to Burwood CBD. On Saturday, 21 October 2017 I booked and paid $149 for a "Deluxe Ensuite Studio" room at Boronia Lodge. However, 10 days later, at about 09:15 on Tuesday, 31 October, Frank called: "There has been an error, the room you booked is no longer available. You will have to stay in a single standard room, shared facilities". So, from Deluxe Ensuite Studio to standard room, shared bathroom, with 3 days notice!. I was not happy! But, Frank took exception to my displeasure and said something like, "If you no like it, you not stay here again". Now, Frank's English was not great and he may have meant someting else, but it sounded like a threat. He also meantioned "a surprise" if I did arrive. I told him I was no longer intersted in the Burwood Boronia Lodge and would not stay there again. My theory is; Frank was offered more money for the studio room. Or someone wanted the room for more then one night and so, I was dumped. Money talks! Great customer service, Boronia Lodge! Of course, I then had to find alternative accomodation, dearer and futher away from Burwood. So, it will interesing to see if I am refunded the $149. . As a caution to anyone thinking of staying at the Burwood Boronia Lodge; you may not get what you paid for.
