One of my absolute favourite restaurants. Great for when I’m in the mood for vegetarian. I’ve eaten in at their new establishment and it’s as delicious as ever. I usually get takeaway once a week and it’s always on point! The pricing is very reasonable too considering they cook everything fresh daily here.
Food was delicious and hearty. It's $45 for a banquet and you definitely do not go home feeling hungry. If you're low carb or dont eat pita this place is not for you haha. I would give 5 stars but my only gripe is due to being a set menu there was no information on what we were eating as the waitress just put the food down without saying what anything was. I really would have liked to have known.
Enjoyable night, everyone loved the banquet. Thank you MSB!Food: 5/5
So glad Moroccan Soup Bar has come to North Melbourne! Delicious food, great flavours, all vegetarian and incredible value. The meal pack & bake was easily enough for two. Easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there as it’s not near a main shopping strip, but now that we do we’ll be back regularly!
Table service - barely, they just throw the plates on your table. I don’t know what I ate except for the rice and desserts. 3 stars because the food I ate was good no issue with that - I knew it was vegetarian so the experience would be unique. Drinks lol good luck with that too, all we got was water or Moroccan Solo. No drinks menu? wasn’t expecting alcohol but some variety at least Made us have the buffet, we had 3 kids 11,6 & 2 years old and payed $45 per head - same as Adult rate. My 6&2 barely ate, and it’s not for the $45 per head its the serving a buffet for that many people and all the food that was wasted! My daughter asked me a few times what is that? And I had no answer because the waiters didn’t tell me either. How can they make you have a buffet with 5 adults and 3 kids under 11? Kids were fine with a some rice and a side dish. We came for a menu experience with friends, try things we wanted not for buffet of rice varieties and dips. Didn’t feel like a resturant experience at all. I left feeling like I had just paid a fine for going out on a Saturday night. Soup bar ? I didn’t even get a chance to try soup because we never got a menu. First and last for me. Vegetarian options: Food was ok Parking: Tuff gig on a main road
The food here is good and varied. The mint tea was unlike anything i have drunk before. However, due to whatever reasons, the information available online is out of date. Ask the waiter/waitress what is happening/available and when. We enjoyed our meal/banquet there, but the price per person means we will not be returning for a long while.
Two people, rice, potato, carrot, yogurt and crackers charged $90. All vegetarian restaurant without choice of food... not gonna be here 2nd time Vegetarian options: Only vegetarian
Did the banquet set menu for 4 people, and overall the service was pretty good! There was a fair bit of hype around this place, and I don’t think the food lived up to it, if I’m being honest. It was all okay but lacked they lacked flavour or spice in quite a few dishes. A couple dishes were unique and more enjoyable like the eggplant dish, but frankly nothing I’d order again. The dessert was also pretty ordinary. For how much we paid, I’d say you can probably pay much less somewhere else for better.
The set meals truly felt like a buffet! Loved the tapas and varieties! Especially for a vegetarian. The desserts were a little too sweet for our liking. But overall, it was a great experience! Although it is pricey, it is for a good cause.
I was excited too find a Moroccan place too eat in memory of my late mums delicious cooking from north Africa . I travelled 45 minutes too get there and it was nothing but a bad memory . I sat down and told the first waitress that if it tasted anything like mums I was happy . She seemed too be a very nice person . After the dips , another waitress asked me where was my mum from ?later she accused me of being a food cretic . I couldn’t believe what I was hearing . I was interrogated ! The questions kept coming , she asked me what I did for work in her angry voice and angry looking face .you don’t know me so mind your own business. Luckily I was not feeling too well so I kept my cool and had takeaway for my mains . All I can say is I have never been so insulted in my life like that and I will never ever go back there. This is a prime example of people just simply going mad after covid and these people have become paranoid about the world .Sad night it was and a bad experience. I would never treat anyone like that so I don’t expect to be treated like that also .Thanks for reading
