Hired a moving van from this location. Friendly staff. Waited 10-15 minutes to pick up the van. I did not mind as they took the time to properly clean the van before handing over the keys. The return process was slot easier. Just had to ensure the van was filled up, and I just had to drop off the keys. Nice and easy.

Seems like you can trust Budget more. The other companies were happy to take my booking but then regarded it as just a request- no guarrantee. I could call the office here and confirm availability. Thanks for the great service. As an infrequent moving-truck user it was great to go over any queries, too easy with Rob.

Oh my goodness, this would have to be the worst managed hire car business. The manager and her sidekick have lying fine tuned to perfection, a theme recognised in many reviews. We hired a small suv to drive from Melbourne to our home in Bairnsdale. When I phoned to enquire about a vehicle, I mentioned to the manager that I was choosing to hire rather than travel by public transport due to the risk of infection. I mentioned that I was just released from hospital following major surgery. Now I wonder why she would assume for one minute we were hiring a vehicle to drive to Bairnsdale and then back to Melbourne. She did say that plenty of people choose to do this. We returned the vehicle to the Bairnsdale depot only to be phoned a short time later, informing us she would have to send two people to retrieve the vehicle and the additional sum of $600 would be charged to our credit card. Neither her and her grossly rude and inept offsider were prepared to accept any blame and she became rancid at the suggestion. Should you ever consider hiring a vehicle from Clayton, I would suggest you look elsewhere. Please read all reviews.

Great service and cheapest car hire on the market. Vehicles are at least brand new and not budget standard specs like Europe car that charge more for low quality specs

There were plenty of trucks available and The prices are very competitive. However for a first time renter the information given is very poor. We rented a truck with the hydraulic lift. They informed us how operate it but missed out on a major step which made it inoperable and I had to call the head office to get the correct instructions. Also they don’t have the remote for the lift. The driving side door had a bit of an issue not closing properly. Driving on the freeway the door was vibrating so badly and felt like it was about to come off. The light inside the cabin wasn’t working. Found the switch hidden under the body but it wasn’t working so moving stuff after sundown was a bit of in the dark I would say. 3 stars for this time and make sure these are working properly for next time.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Hired a car for two days, got asked an endless number of questions from the front desk, while being treated like trash throughout the process. Felt as if they were doing us a favor by being there, even though we're paying them! The guy who gave us the keys didn't even bother greeting us, just shook his fingers to come to him like dogs. He then proceeded to talk to us as if we had never seen a car before, or could drive. After grunting at us for 10 minutes, we got in the car to find that it stunk, as if the man had just had lunch in the car beforehand.  If you value your integrity and time, don't go here.

Don't come here to rent a car, they will charge you fully excess fee for a tiny damage by a flying stone.

The level of customer service that we repeatedly receive from Budget Clayton is amazing!! My partner is a repeat customer and we keep coming back as it is always a smooth and easy process. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Thanks Lisa! Very happy customers!!

Hired a tipper and went to go pick up a excavator and realized no tow ball. So i immediately returned it within 20 minutes and they charged me $100. I have never hired a tipper that didn't have a tow ball. Ridiculous
