1. The tent provided did not include the rain cover, so we could not use the tent at all. Fortunately someone else on the campsite had a spare. They did provide us with a new tent the next day. 2. The awning was missing a leg, and another leg was broken, so it could not easily be set up. 3. The seals on the camper came off at several locations, and our gear inside got wet. 4. They insisted that we fill the car up more, even though the fuel gauge was pointing at full. 5. The reception staff did not apologize at all for any of the inconveniences we faced, and did not offer any compensation. Avoid using these guys if you can.

Please be VERY careful when hiring with Britz. We hired a Hiace campervan for our 2 week road trip around Tasmania. Britz screwed us around from day 1 and we've received no apologies. On our second day of having the van, we went to use the picnic chairs that we paid an additional cost for, only to find out that they were both broken. One was completely broken, the other was entirely bent. On day 6, we noticed that both front tyres were bald and delaminating. This was a major concern and a failure to provide duty of care and safety to their customers. We then had to take time out of our itinerary, send photos of the tyres to Britz for 'assessing' and had to take the car to their nearest contractors to have the tyres replaced and a wheel alignment. This was an inconvenience and took a good 2 hours out of our day. Britz then asked us to pay over $300 to Bob Jane for the tyres and wheel alignment and advised that they would reimburse us. Because we are not stupid, we refused to pay for this additional expense and had them sort it out, but the fact that they tried this on us is entirely unacceptable. I imagine they have tried this on customers before... Upon returning the car, the person at Hobart Britz tried to tell us otherwise that the tyres were fine and the tyre report stated that the tread was at 4mm. Lucky, if it weren't for my partner who is a mechanic by trade was able to prove the delamination on the inside of the tyres using the photos that we took. It concerns me that we could have driven the car for another 6 days with unsafe tyres and thus putting our safety at risk, possibly having a car accident because we encountered wet weather. I would avoid using Britz again but if you must use them, ensure that you do not trust them when you are given the vehicle and do your own inspection of the vehicle. Britz have not offered us any compensation for the time that it took for this safety issue to be rectified.

I'll use them again in a heartbeat. Super helpful staff and fully equipped vehicles in the best condition. Had no worries taking it all over Tassie.

Friedlly staff and the Camper was ok, was a new car with low kms, that's important then otherwise you will get a very old one.

They have comparatively old campervans but overall it was good to hire from them.
