We did a tour of the Brisbane city hall for an hour, its free but had to be booked. The tour guide gave a lot of background information about the city hall along with historical facts. She also showed & explained interesting features of the city hall like the interior stained glass window, marble staircase, organ, etc. If you are interested about history & architecture, its a must do.
Entry is free if you love buildings rich in history and a strong English vibe. It's on a smaller scale, with visiting space on only one floor.
Brisbane City Hall is undoubtedly the most elegant landmark in the city. Opened in 1930, this magnificent building radiates a deep sense of history and charm, both inside and out.nnMajestic Exterior & Square: Standing in King George Square and looking up at the towering Clock Tower and the massive Corinthian columns is truly awe-inspiring. The iconic stone lions and statues across the square are also must-see photography spots.nnLuxurious Interiors: The level of craftsmanship inside is breathtaking. The grand marble staircases, ornate railings, and detailed stonework on the walls make every corner feel like a piece of art. I was particularly captivated by the chandeliers and the intricately designed geometric ceilings, which perfectly showcase the opulence of its era.nnA Rich Cultural Experience: Beyond being a civic office, it also houses the Museum of Brisbane, offering a fantastic free cultural experience. It’s the perfect place to pause and appreciate the city's heritage and art amidst the hustle of the CBD.nnIf you are in Brisbane, you must take the time to visit and experience the dignity and beauty of this historic treasure!
Great free tours. Fabulous free Museum upstairs, Excellent 50+ activity centre downstairs. And fabulous cafe downstairs too. As well as an excellent venue for functions and events
A great experience seeing all the Xmas lights around Brisbane City Hall during the evening of the 06/12/25 & the show started from 07:30pm. defiantly worth the free visit for all ages to enjoy.
