I'm in my 60's and have not encountered such helpful caring staff in a pharmacy for many years. I go out of my way to Mosman to go to this chemist. The pharmacists bother to get to know their customers. Nice work John and Katrina!
I'm still in shock at how i was treated in this pharmacy and can't believe that any business thinks it's ok to profile people based on their appearance in 2021. I came in with my script to collect my medication, and instantly when the staff member looked at it she said she would need to check if they can give it to me. She asked for my medicare card, which I handed over as it is standard procedure for some types of medication, and assumed that even though her body language and tone of voice clearly displayed that she was distrustful of me, that once she checked my details there would be no issue. After checking my medicare card she then wanted an address, i was going to hand over my license and she said she will need to call the Dr acting like this is standard practice. When she couldn't get through to the doctor she then said she was happy to give me 'a small amount' of my prescription until they could get in touch with the doctor. At this point I'd had enough of the disrespectful treatment and said I was surprised at how they handled this simple situation and that I was going to go elsewhere, and before i left the girl made sure to let me know 'i doubt anyone else will give you that medication' which further insulted my intelligence. For some context, I'm a young male 31 with some tattoos, I understand that i might stand out from the typical Mosman customer which seeing as this is my local shopping centre i can say tend to be older more conservative looking people, but thats no excuse to treat me differently, especially when i've been nothing but polite or courteous. I also have dark skin but I'm not going to play the 'race card' because I've been in here before with long sleeves and trousers on and been treated like a regular human being. Of course I went to the next pharmacy down the road, was treated with respect and zero judgment which is what i'm used to and picked up my medication.
Went in for my astrazeneca vaccine at 4:30pm. The doctor was great at his job barley felt a thing. Brought back out to the waiting room and was told I had to wait 15mins to make sure I was OK before I go home. Low and behold I had a reaction to the vaccine and my body went into shock. This involved me fainting and becoming unresponsive. Meanwhile at the same time another member of the public was having there own medical issue. A 1 in a million situation where 2 separate individuals were having there own medical emergencies and and staff here handled it brilliantly. They lowered me to the floor when I started to faint in a safe manner. Helped the other person at the same time cleared the store and had ambos there for both of us in 10 mins. This is something you would probably never see again it was so crazy and I am so impressed with the staff here. 10/10 would have a emergency here again.
I'm not usually a fan of pharmacies but I love coming here. The staff are all so delightful & incredibly helpful. A beautiful family run business. Highly recommend!
