Great venue, welcoming decor & friendly enough waitress until she removed our drinks without asking before I’d finished mine, admittedly it was down to the ice but still it would have been polite to ask. The soggy salt & pepper squid on top of cold chips beside an overdressed limp coleslaw cost us $67 no dessert thanks we needed something fresh to counteract the effects of the old oil used to fry frozen food. Can’t really recommend.
Went twice in one week table service. Lunch was lovely and so was the service. Dinner was also lovely, but I think we were forgotten once they took our mains away. There wasn't a chance to ask for dessert as no one was around our space. We were there for over an hour and weren't seen to again that night. Paid and left.
First visit here and highly recommend a visit. Great food they had music playing in background which was a terrific mix. Drinks were cold and staff exceptional gave service. Well done to the owners.
Beautiful tree canopy shaded eating area with pleasant decor and clean interior. Just wanted a icy cold ginger beer at the time - delicious! Will visit again on my next visit to Bendigo. A favorite destination of mine. A bloody good pub mate!
Just had one the best steaks ever! A half-kilo t bone, cooked to perfection. Shared it with my partner, along with a rather less generous entree serving of calamari. We finished with a Golden Gaytime desert, which is a huge, delicious mess of honeycomb, caramel and icecream. The honeycomb and caramel were quite bitter; i thought that the desert was balanced to perfection, but my dining companions did not agree.
I’m not sure what’s happened , I had an amazing meal here about 6 months ago, tonight a went there for me and my partners 5 year anniversary. We got the food … I looked at it and wished I had stayed home and cooked . Highly disappointing. But the worst was the waitress , although she served us the entire night , she said Mayb said 1 sentence to us, she was very odd! She took wine glasses away that still had wine in them , came up to the table snatched menus from in front of us without warning or saying a word and just walked away. Over all a VERY disappointing and uncomfortable night.
Haven't been here for a couple of years. It used to be a thriving pub packed all the time. The meals this time were small, expensive and a real letdown. Unsure if it's new owners, different chef, but it just felt cold and like it's lost it's soul compared to previous visits. You get a much better feed at the Rising sun hotel around the corner, or even Lazy Moe's in town trumps this. Food & drinks: Tiny bowl of chips $5, Asian salad had half of one small roma tomato. Not good value for money.
We had day trip to Bendigo for Easter and decided to have a pub meal on the end of the trip, the bridge pub had live band music going on and decided to give them a go...location is perfect with outdoor tables and live music outside, the staff was so friendly and helpful, food was delicious...the place was full with families, kids friendly....highly recommended
Great variety of meals. 4 of us ate there and we all cleared our plates. The lamb blackstrap I had was delicious . Service was also excellent.
It was the Wake event after a Chapel service at Mulqueens, Bendigo. We had ample savouries, and snacks and drinks were provided by the family hosts. My only regret was that our group was not able to sit in closer proximity to the other guests. The designated area had a wall between the group. Walkability: Close to the funeral home and parking.
