I went to this place again last week, believe it is under new management. I find the coffee is the best in Hawthorn, much better than a lot of cafes at Glenferrie Road. The food is so yummy and the serving is just right for me. Customer service is excellent, friendly staff.

This place will survive for a bit on its previous reputation but must have recently changed hands. It's a fabulous location but the new kitchen's food is dreadful, poorly presented and well and truly overpriced. No longer nice selection of Dench Breads or pastries inside. The vibe has changed from arty and bookish to prepackaged and sterile. Coffee was actually surprisingly okay. Photo of the $20 avo attached.

Okay, so great food... 5 out of 5. But the service isn't ideal. We sat down and waited ages just for someone to bring us a menu. Slow service and we just weren't acknowledged even though there were available staff. Be a bit more attentive, and this is a 5 our of 5 place!

The worst chai latte I have ever drank. If you want to pay for an over priced cup of hot milk then this is your place

Lovely staff, good food but the fritters were so expensive for the small serving size. I paid $17 for a meal and left hungry. Is a shame because we enjoy everything else.
