Dropped in randomly as the engine warning lights had come on in my dash. I know they just needed to run their scanner over it to see what the error code was and prob reset it or advise course of action needed for me to be on my way and out of their hair in 5 minutes with a payment from me for their help and support. The car was in limp mode and the engine was cutting in and out so I didn’t want to drive it, it also lacked power on hills which is dangerous especially on main roads. However, I was told they couldn’t help until tomorrow Thursday. So I called RACQ whilst my car was parked just outside their workshop as I had to get to work, the RACQ driver asked why I hadn’t asked for help from Wyatt Auto and I told him I had, he was surprised they didn’t offer to lend a hand or guide me in anyway considering it was so simple for someone in the know to help out with this issue. RACQ told me what was wrong and whilst he couldn’t fix it, suggested I book it in with a mechanic logically you would think Wyatt Auto considering I was there already as the car wasn’t great to drive. 90 mins had passed since my first request for assistance from Wyatt Auto. So I went back in and asked for help advising them what the issue was now, they told me they could only book me in next Tuesday now! Really? So in 90 mins I went from tomorrow to next Tuesday. In their defence this time I requested a service as well considering I was expecting to leave it there overnight, but when they told me Tue was next available I asked if they can just fix to O2 code error and I can at least drive the car away with confidence and deal with it elsewhere. They asked me a level of detail about the error I had no idea about and the RACQ driver hadn’t advised me of, and implied if I didn’t know that they couldn’t help! I basically had to try and find that out before our conversation could progress to the next phase! In reality they could have been helpful and suggested they quickly scan the error again and let me know what part would be required and we could have either booked it in next week so they generate a new customer and revenue, I do live locally, or I could pay them for the 2 minute scan diagnosis and get a mobile mechanic to have it done sooner. They just said again, very nonchalantly, ‘yeah we can’t really help we are really busy’ and shrugged the shoulders and stared at me. The whole day the bloke with the beard just sat behind the counter or walked into the workshop to casually check it was clean or work had been done. Not too busy but too busy to help a fellow human for 5 mins in return for payment. It was a highly awkward and weird vibe in there. If that was the business owner today with the beard who barely looked me in the eye when I went in or acknowledged me without me speaking first, then as a fellow business owner of a service business, I can’t reconcile his approach to brand and service. I sat there out the front for 6 hours, they saw me all day waiting for a mobile mechanic who never turned up,, not once did anyone from Wyatt Auto pop over to offer help even after obviously noticing I was clearly in need of it. For a small community located business to be so unhelpful to a person in need says everything about its owners and/or managers. Lazy and uninterested. That attitude reflects in your workmanship.
Ian and the team at Wyatt's are friendly , helpful and do their job without fuss and bother. Always happy with the teams work to keep my car running well. Good old fashioned service in the 21st century. :
Super grateful for Wyatt AutomotivennI came in randomly asking if they could help fix my side mirror on my car. As some kids on the street punched in my mirror, it was all cracked and not working. I supplied a replacement mirror and Elyse and another kind mechanic helped me re-attach it free of charge. My mirror isn’t perfect but it is safe to drive on the road. Thankyou so much for helping me. I really appreciate it!
As always the staff were super friendly and efficient. Ian was on leave and although i missed saying hello, the others were great. Good service and excellent value. Thank you Wyatt Automotive!! Bernadette
Very disappointing. Only 2 weeks ago these guys serviced my old Subaru. They told me there is an oil leak that is expected at this age, not a major concern we just need to keep an eye on it. The same thing I'm told every time I get this car serviced for years now. The car runs fine, never a drop of oil on the garage floor and I've never had to top up the oil level. We also discussed that I'm about to buy a new car and sell this one.nI advertised the car and found a buyer who wanted to pick it up this morning so yesterday I took it back to Wyatt Auto for a roadworthy certificate. I was waiting for them all day to call me when the car is ready but they didn't call. From 4pm I called them multiple times but nobody answered their phone. So at around 5pm I got there, hoping it's all good, only to be told that the car failed the test!! No solution offered, no quote for a fix, just casually telling me that the oil leak is a 'safety concern' and cannot pass the test. Really?? So two weeks ago the same leak wasn't a safety concern? First of all a minor oil leak does not make a car unsafe to drive, second, if they believe that it's unsafe, why did they let me drive away in it 2 weeks ago? So it's OK for me to drive an 'unsafe' vehicle but when it's about protecting themselves licence then they have to be super thorough...nnVery unprofessional to not be contacted the whole day they had the car, not be informed of the problem and offered a solution to fix it. Very inconvenient to find out so late in the day, and hypocritical outcome given the recent service and advise re the minor leak.nnJust another dodgy mechanic to avoid..
