Quickly stopped here to purchase cigarettes. We had stopped in Taupo and grabbed food So I decided to use the BP bin before entering the store. I was putting the last of our takeaway food waste into the bin which was the popeye’s takeaway bag, when a lady stood at the entrance yelling at me - “Really?!” I looked at her confused as to what I was doing wrong when she yelled out again - “you just filled my bin right up! Really?!” I explained to her it was literally burger, fries and drink rubbish from our stop prior to Tūrangi. Her reply was “What, a big brown bag of rubbish?!” I told her there was 5 of us in the car so it may have looked like alot more then what it actually was. I proceeded to enter the store for my purchase. I politely asked for my cigarettes and said thank you when purchase was complete. The lady still seemed annoyed and didn’t say another word after telling me off. I left there feeling uncomfortable and like I had really done something wrong?
The staff here are always nice/great and well what can I say about the fuel? The Maui RV said yum yum!! And the subie is always saying More, lol. Keep up the good work team, just the right amount of friendly and thank you for your service:
RUDE old lady off to the side manager possibly?nReally needed to go toilet as coming back from Auckland, got yelled at saying “you need to buy something, fill up and what is your car” which was the plan but needed bathroom first.nOther younger lady on register so sweet, easy to deal with…nnIf you are a fan at getting yelled at to use the restroom definitely recommend .nFix YOUR attitude, won’t get far in life like that.
Walked in peacefully to grab a drink, maybe a small snack, and for my sister to quickly use the bathroom. I wasn’t even fully inside before the lady working started yelling at us. No greeting, no warning, just straight into it As this was the very first interaction, I just stood there and accepted it. Learned very quickly from the yelling that the bathroom is a very sensitive topic here. Didn’t get a drink, didn’t get a snack, didn’t make it past the door but we were entertained, and it gave us something to laugh about for the rest of the trip.
Always get gas n a coffee when I call in. Good service and coffees, staff friendly and helpful shop and local knowledge wise and always polite.
