$16 for pie and sausage roll. Fair enough if they’re very good. Both were burnt bitter pastry and dried out, at 1pm. It’s not hard to keep warmer at lower temp and put tray of water in to avoid this. Worse yet, the brisket pie was chewy and gristly. Obviously the brand has been farmed out to franchisees who don’t know what they’re doing, or hired likewise. The original B St crew would be horrified to see what’s happened
This hole in the wall bakery serves great freshly baked goods... The croissant is truly of Parisian quality... Our Saturday morning treat with fresh coffee and Bonne Man conserves.
Rude service when I asked for a sausage roll which was burnt. Also while pies and sausage rolls are great when not burnt but bread is consistently stale and average, almond croissant not nice been out for way too long. Needs to lift game quality dropped alot much better options in balmain...
Nice coffee and great pastries. It was the first time we visited and the smell of the bakery was amazing when we passed by. It’s more “to go” as they have only 2 small tables outside to sit, but you can go to the park if you want. The staff was friendly. We will go back next time when we are in Balmain.
Friendly staff, looks like an inviting place to get take away. Alarms bells rang when they pulled out a pre cooked bacon and egg roll. It tasted as good as it sounds. The cold egg was inedible. Best to take it off the menu if it can’t be done right. IMO.
I have had inconsistent experiences at other Bourke Street Bakeries, but the products here are top notch, the coffee is made well and the staff are friendly. Standard pies are excellent too; great pastry, and full of chunky pieces of meat and vegetables. Always busy, and feels like a popular community spot on Booth Street.
Coffee good, could be a bit hotter. Will buy coffee from here again. Hot chocolate was delicious. Not much vegan options . Park just across the road for a beautiful chill out.
Very disappointed today. I bought one of my favourite pork n fennel roll. Came in at 9am so it's nice and fresh. The pastry was thicker than usual and dry. Used to very moist and crispy. The filling same was dense and dry, but the dog loved it. Going try the famous croissant hopefully it won't disappoint.
The best bread and quiches in Balmain. Just Delicious, and try the yummy cakes too.
Not quite like Surry Hills. The croissant wasn’t fresh and it can’t hurt to smile or greet your patrons.
