Great food, great people, great atmosphere! Very attentive staff and management. I felt like I was dining at a mates place will be back.
Bounty of the sun was recommended to be by a friend and it did not disappoint! It’s a sleek izakaya with a menu of small dishes designed to be shared, and enjoyed with drinks.nnThere was so much to take in walking into the restaurant - the hundreds of hanging pines from the ceiling, anime projected on the wall, soft lofi tunes, and the golden rays coming in against the open kitchen and bar - such a vibe!nnWe came by on a Wednesday 530PM, before the 7PM Aaron Chen show at the Palais Theatre, thinking it’ll be fine without a booking but they were actually fully booked. Luckily they managed to squeeze us in a quick in and out feed before the show. When we came back after the show to pick up our cars, the place was packed.nnFeatured dishes - favouritesn- Kingfish sashimi [$26] n- Spicy tuna open hand roll [$10ea] n- Japanese taramasalata [$8ea] n- Charred corn [$8ea] n- Grilled butterfish [$14] n- Chicken nanban [$18] n- Ebi mayo [$19]n- Pork kakuni [$21]n- Aji sando [$14]n- M9 Wagyu tataki [$24]nnThere were some dishes that I liked more than others but everything was pretty good, and looking at the menu now, the $75 Feed Me menu has quite a good selection so I might just go with that next time. For drinks, I tried their Hentai Sour - I definitely want to come back to try more of the cocktail selection!nnThis spot is definitely one of the better izakayas in Melbourne. When I was chatting to the staff, they told me they’re not really big on social media and most of their customers are regulars or have found the restaurant through word of mouth, like I did. Defs check them out if you’re in the area and make sure to book!
Great food and staff were friendly and informative! All the dishes were great, the Kingfish Sashimi, the Taramasalata and the Nanban chicken were stand out! Also the atmosphere / decor was cool, with background movie projected on the wall for a splash of colour!nnOnly downside was the table wasn't ready for our reservation and we had to wait for 10 minutes outside for our table.
Stumbled across this place & The menu blew us away with its mouthwatering flavors. Absolutely unforgettable dining experience. Cocktails were next level. From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like old friends, creating an atmosphere that felt like dining at a close friend's place. The only let down was our meal sequence. After 40mins having to ask after our remaining dishes, the young waitress would do well to not speak condescendingly to patrons. Our docket got lost at the pass, not because of it being super busy as if we couldn't possibly understand. Honesty goes along way, especially when speaking to an fellow industry personnel. This poorly handled conversation marred our Otherwise 10/10 Dining Experience.
The food was amazing and so fresh. The atmosphere was great. Had such an awesome night with friends, and the staff were FANTASTIC.
