They have beautiful garden sittings, connecting to The Montsalvat - that added one star to my review. The price for the portion of food they have served for breakfast, way too expensive. While we only ordered 1 standard menu and 1 coffee each person, it's approximately $40 pp.
it’s tuesday but they aren’t open, definitely love the look of the building, they are so vintage and gorgeous, love it! will be back to try the food one day, also saw them have the goose running loose like a pet, so adorable.
Their crispy skin salmon is a must try. Tender salmon with crisp skin. A perfect texture combination. The pumpkin and blue cheese risotto is so creamy and tasty. And the coconut chicken salad has a clean and fresh flavor. If i wasn't waited for fifty minutes for the food i would give it a five star review for sure.
Definitely book ahead. Was very busy. Nice limited menu but something for most. Staff very helpful.Food: 5/5
Very slow and inattentive service in a restaurant which was not busy enough for that to make sense. Out of a lot of menu items and the food wasn’t even nice. Disappointing because it used to be fabulous.
I was very disappointed about the new menu, the food cannot be compared with what they did before ! For many years we used to come here, but recently they changed the menu and the quality of the dishes. Can you imagine that in the eggs Benedict they put cheap hollandaise from a jar!!! and sweet meat... I’ve never ate so terrible breakfast in Melbourne. I found a photo how it was before about 1 year ago and now with the new “naan Benedict”
It's ok, but nothing I'd rush back to. First up, the reviews about the woman manager are 100% true. She wasn't rude to our table, but wow she barked a few orders around customers! It was horrible to see The food was pretty good, but the fritters tasted quite oily and didn't have a fresh element to it.
Lunch today after a wander around the gardens. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing.
Wow, I'm surprised by the bad reviews. We actually loved this place. Coffee was great, breakfast was fresh and tasted fantastic, we sat in the beautiful courtyard and relaxed. The bad staff must have been rostered off that day..
Always a pleasure to spend some time brunching or lunching away in their quaint and serene courtyard which instantly transports you to another place and time! Service is always warm and friendly, and they always manage to squeeze us in even when they are super busy. Love the coffee, yummy muffins and corn fritters!
