They were holding the door up on closing hour for me so I would have chance to get the fish tank and few aquarium goods after work. Owner really helpful with giving a lot of tips for beginner like me. Great service!

Made an order online for plants and waited for a long time for it to be processed. Made a number of calls to confirm postage, etc, etc. They do take their time. However, the lady on the phone was lovely and are very helpful. Got my orders after two weeks (due to back order). One of the plant I got was in a bad state, most of it was brown and dead. I emailed them about this, and they send me a replacement with no problem at all. It arrived yesterday, and I'm very happy with it. Good shop, friendly staffs, just need to sort out their online shop.

Went in to buy a 2ft fire aquarium on there website priced at $240. The lady told me it was now $299. Even though there was actually a sticker saying $195 on the side, the pricing is all over the place and quite unfair. Also noticed that most of there tanks are priced much higher then other suppliers. Very disappointed and wasted my day driving there! If your promoting prices and displaying prices I'm quite sure you have to sell them for this price not $100 extra.

I went to Boronia Aquarium because I was having some serious issues with the health of my aquarium that were beyond the knowledge and / or care of my local shop. The staff at Boronia showed an interest in my set-up and problems, and they asked lots of questions to help identify the problem. They provided me with affordable options to fix the problem, which was highly effective and definitely saved the lives of my fish. It was clear to me they genuinely wished to help me and my fish rather than just make a sale, because the majority of their suggestions were to do with water quality and required very little in the way of purchases. At a later time I misunderstood their explanation of a particular product, and consequently misused it which sadly resulted in the death of one of my fish. However I think that it is the responsibility of us as fish keepers do our own research to complement professional advice, so I'm at least partially to blame for that one. Overall, Boronia Aquarium is a fantastic place for advice, products and livestock. These people actually care about fish and the people who take care of them. They are one of the few ethical Aquarium Supplies shops around, although as a consequence they may be criticised as overpriced (because they only stock quality products) and as abrupt (because the staff will refuse to sell you a set-up that will be inhumane for the kind of fish you intend to keep). However I think they should be applauded for their ethical stand on the humane treatment of fish, and for the lengths they are willing to go to assist customers and their fish.

The staff at Boronia Aquarium are very pleasant and helpful especially in regard to plants and led lighting. I have purchased arcadia eco aqua led tubes and spotlights for my freshwater tank and must say that they are very good. It took a little while to work out and adjust the amount of lighting required and at first had some green algae growing on the plants under the spotlights. Now that I have reduced the lighting time frame the algae is disappearing. I used to have black beard algae growing on the leaves and stems of the plants but since introducing the led lights it has almost gone and the plants are looking much cleaner. Although the spotlight shines right down to the bottom of the tank I think it is too concentrated in one area whereas the long tube seems to work better across a wider area and the plants seem to look better at this stage. I am still observing and testing different plants under the led system and will comment further in the next month or two.
