Food was very nice, staff weren't the friendliest but wouldn't stop me going back. Dining outside street side was a bit off as they allow a smoker's area less than 10m from the entrance. Quite odd in today's world and makes your meal not as enjoyable.
I've been here several times in the past and it has been ok, but there must be a change in management or chefs because the food has definitely improved! the customer service was good, food tasted delicious and prices were at great value for what you get. Thanks Boatdeck team! insta: @deelycious_
We ordered two sandwiches: chicken and dried tomato; bacon and avocado. There was nothing too special about these two sandwiches, and we could have done at home. BUT I must say that the bacon on my sandwich was extremely crispy and delicious, and my wife loved the homemade mayo. Overall it was a good sandwich although slightly pricy for our standards. Location is great, right in front of The lake. Also one of the most important staff was very friendly and managed to get us a table even though the place was fully booked. Would I come back to eat here? Yes. I only tried the sandwich and I know they have a big menu, so I would probably come back to try something different.
So went twice this week. I went with a friend first, had the Tuscan lamb risotto which was divine! Lamb cooked rare, maybe too rare for some but perfect for me. Very generous serve. My friend had the risotto Al mare which she enjoyed as well. We both had a tart- a passionfruit tart and a caramel banana tart. Unfortunately, I don't know their suppliers but both tart shells were way too thick for the ratio of shell to filling, the passionfruit tart did not even hint of passionfruit even though it had 2 seeds on it, all you could taste was the base. Today, I took my son, I had a repeat Tuscan lamb risotto what can I say, it is divine my son had the Boat Deck burger minus egg. The accompanying chips were semi battered, nice texture, he gave the burger a solid 9.5/10, he prefers the cheese on the meat pattie so it melts a tad. Back again with a friend who was happy with her salt and pepper calamari. Verdict: stay for the meal, head next door for dessert.
The boatdeck Cafe in my opinion is hard to review. The coffee used to be bad but has now gotten good. There is heaps of seating and if your lucky enough to get a table by the lake on a nice day it's gorgeous. As for the food I find it a little hit and miss. I've had good food before but for our most recent visit I wasn't impressed. We have pancakes and waffles with chocolate sauce. It looked lovely but there was no where near enough chocolate sauce. It was all decoration. The pancakes were on the dry side. The strawberries were fresh and delicious though.
Visited here a while back to catch up with a mate. There's ample seating available outside the cafe as well as across the street alongside the lake. This is in addition to the seating area available inside the cafe. This is quite a good arrangement to be seated outside when waiting for the other person to arrive or if you are running a bite late. There is parking available on the street or in the car park of the shopping complex behind the cafe. You place your order and pay at the front counter. The coffees and the dessert were brought out quite quickly to the table beside the lake. Nothing too special about the coffee but the orange cake was the same as the one I had at Paul's Car Wash in Nailsworth! Seems like they are using the same supplier atleast for this item. The tables by the lakeside provide a very nice view to enjoy while having your coffee. Not a bad place to have a coffee if you happen to be in the Mawson Lakes area...
Always a good place to get a bite to eat. Food is great and decent value too. Was a bit weird that half the restaurant was reserved but no one was there even empty still after we left.
Just a little too crowded and waited 40 mins for our food. But overall, food was great. *Order & pay at the counter
Good pizzas and classic restaurant/pub style foods. Club sandwich was not bad. Iced coffees were really sweet.
We had breakfast there was very tasty. And the view very good. The cafe gets very busy it might little bit long to get your meal but it worth it
