Great food. Friendly service. A wide array of wines by the glass and amazing cocktails. I had the special which was halibut with a cheddar risotto. Absolutely delicious. Meals are pricey but large portions. Soup and salad. The clam chowder was tasty. We loved everything!
Dinner was absolutely delicious! Most of the menu was gluten free and some things could be made gluten free. Of course, the clam chowder isn't one of those things. The caramel pot de creme is the only GF dessert option but it was so yummy! Service was also really great and very accommodating for our dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free - Servers were knowledgeable about the menu and what is or can be made GF.
Very good option for lunch or dinner. A little pricey. The real star was the peanut butter pie! Bring a friend for that one because it's rich, delicious and a very generous portion!
Never been to Lincoln City. Saw this place 3 months ago when I booked my hotel and decided I was going here. I had the duck breast and my husband had the pork chop. Both were cooked perfectly. Duck was tender and you could taste the grill, in a good way. Pork chop was juicy, crispy, and smokey and varied in texture in the best way possible. Our server was excellent. 10/10.
This was a wonderful surprise and the Chef was a gastronomical genius! I had the special for the evening which was a pan seared halibut freshly caught that day topped with Dungeness crab served over a bed of white sharp cheddar risotto with a par blanc sauce and fresh string beans. Each bite was perfectly balanced and seasoned. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! We can't wait to come back. If you love incredible and well curated food, then Blackfish is a must the next time you're in Lincoln City. And I shouldn't forget to mention their cocktails...their Marion Berry mojito was awesome!
3.5 stars for this lunch next to the main drag, clean but no specific ambience to speak of. Fish n chips real batter, slightly overdone pretty good but not great, Coleslaw ave, tartar sauce needs taste. Clam chowder volumeous but average, good set of ingredients but a little on the thin end, and somewhat bland. Calamari very good, Salmon Ceasar Very Good, recommended.
The food was absolutely fantastic! The chinook salmon was cooked to perfection, my dietary needs including no potatoes or butter was gracefully attended to. The salad was crisp and the herb binagrette gave a perfect tang to the noticably fresh produce. The staff was attentive and friendly but unobtrusive as needed. We felt very well cared for and well fed!
I have lived in Newport,OR for 2 years and my town is not known for their fine dining, to put it mildly. We only discovered Blackfish Cafe in Lincoln City about 6 months ago and have returned 4 times. It is our go-to place for a special occasion, although I have redefined what constitutes a "Special occasion". I would dine there weekly if I could. My husband surprised me last night by taking me there on Valentine's Day. The surprise was that they are normally closed on Tuesday but were open for a limited time last night with reservations. I ordered the 12oz Lobster tail and my husband had the Filet Mignon. I am a retired working Chef and it has never been my desire to go out on Valentine's Day or Mother's Day as they are both the busiest days of the year and usually the fare is mediocre at best. Blackfish's Owner and Chef Rob Pounding, knocked it out of the park last night and I've never had a better, more *perfectly* cooked Lobster tail than I had last night. I had to stop by the window and thank him on our way out the door I was that impressed. Ahh, if only that were a permanent item on your menu! *Hint *Hint The Servers are all so friendly, the restaurant is comfortable, not stuffy or pretentious, and the desserts are simply divine. I would not hesitate recommending this establishment to the even the most discerning customer. Thank you Blackfish Cafe, I'm already planning my next "Special Occasion!"
Beyond spectacular! The ambiance is inviting, the service and staff kind and attentive, and the food is a festival for the palate. The flavors were exciting, well-balanced, and the portions plentiful. I had the duck and it was scrumptious! The skin was crispy, the meat was expertly cooked, and the taste was magical. I also tried the albacore and scallops off the plate of my dinner-mates and all were glorious. What an amazing meal and experience!
I have been enjoying this cafe and tasty seafood for years when I am in the area, but my last visit was the best ever! The waiter told us the special was “halibut that slept the previous night in the ocean”. It was the freshest tasting halibut I can remember. The halibut was topped with crabmeat, placed on a delicious risotto and surrounded with green beans and pea shoots! The taste was extraordinary and the presentation was beautiful! My dining companions had cioppino which was loaded with a great amount of seafood! They too loved their meal! My cocktail was a fig infused Manhattan that was smooth and delicious! Since it was my birthday, I also had a tasty chocolate and crepe dessert. The server was charming and attentive! The entire dining experience was memorable and special.
