I have tried different shaved iced dessert around Australia and Asia. What differentiate Blackball from others is the intense coldness of its shaved ice. It is not as fine or as powdery soft as others, but there is a lot of it and on a hot Melbourne summer day, nothing beats its chilling cool effect.
BlackBall is a dessert cafe located in ChinaTown, Melbourne. The cafe is approximately 5 minutes walk from Emporium Melbourne. The cafe serves a wide variety of desserts including, milk tea, shaved ice, soy bean, grass jelly dessert, etc. The desserts are overpriced and not up to the mark. The staffs are NOT friendly. Cheers!
Great place to get your dessert fix, especially if you're into the Taiwanese style desserts. The waffles are soft and freshly made which is excellent. The toppings for their dessert are also great, especially the mini black sesame balls.
Food and price are good, but normal service. Second arrival, bad service his face looks like I own his money - time: 12pm 07-11-2020.
Black Ball in Chinatown in Melbourne is as good as the original one from Taiwan. I always order glass jelly with fresh milk or Glass Jelly Icy set. The tarot balls are really good as well. I was never disappointed with this shop. The other good thing is it’s opened until late in China town. A very convenient location.
Reasonably priced Asian style dessert: grass jelly with various toppings, bubble tea drinks and waffles with toppings. You need to order from the counter even if you are dining in. There is no table service and please expect average customer service.
A little bit of Taiwan in Melbourne...nice bubble tea and juices. They also have shave ice!
Qffle is life, qffle is love. Really fantastic milk tea here too!
