One of my go-to cafes in Port Macquarie, whenever I’m in town I like to visit. Friendly, efficient staff, a good menu range and a huge cake cabinet. What’s not to like? This morning I ordered the salmon benny, which was good, but today the eggs were slightly over cooked for my liking. I know some people prefer it this way, so it wasn’t a big deal. Still, I’ll be back again next time I’m in town!
Very friendly service The food was delicious and well presented. A very good experience If we had have found it on our first day we would have eaten here nearly everyday. We went to Bitter Sweet after a walk along the beach. The food is really good and tasty. We had the chicken burger, eggs Benny, salt and pepper squid with salad and vege quiche. The service was good and quick. Must visit if you're near Lighthouse Beach.
Discovered this little gem via Google maps after giving a local beachside cafe the flick. Fabulous food, generous servings and a whole cabinet of home made treats to choose from. The waitresses did a great job - prompt service with a smile.
Just wonderful!! We stopped in for lunch and to pick up some sweet treats to take home. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The kids had a great time, especially when their drinks came with jelly snakes wrapped around the straws! We loved the stuffed mushrooms and the salt and pepper squid with mango salad. The squid was very lightly battered and perfectly cooked, so delicious! The Cafe is clearly a favourite in the neighbourhood, it has a lovely atmosphere! It felt like we were popping in on old friends. The lemon tart was divine, so creamy and tangy! The gluten free brownie and cupcake were a huge hit too. Thanks for making our last stop in Port Mac a memorable one, Bittersweet!
High standard of food and service - great location. The menu has many delicious savoury options for breakfast, brunch & lunch. And if you are a sweet tooth - you will lose your mind when you see the selection of cakes made fresh on the premises. I have eaten at Bittersweet hundreds of times and I have never been disappointed. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: They always have vegetarian options on the menu Parking: Plenty of parking-high turnover of parking spots - if there isn’t a spot when you arrive there will be in a minute or two. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps
Thank you Mrs Google for leading us to this amazing little cafe tucked away out of sight up the back streets. Of course the locals all know about it but us visitors have to go the extra mile & truly worth the effort. The food & service were excellent with great coffee & cakes to die for. Getting my coffee here for a while now but had a day off so we went for breakfast. First thought was ‘menu is a bit pricey’ but 1 I’m no longer living in the 90s and 2 you are paying for quality and quality was served. Dine in coffee is 100% better than the usual takeawaywhich is great too. Halloumi wasn’t squeakysign of quality, that rosti was exquisitely surprising and the fritters were perfection. Couldn’t be happier with the food and the price. The great service was free so even better.
