Bistro du Peuple is a Mauritian influenced cafe in the financial precinct serving authentic creole fusion food Bistro Du Peuple is a delightful venue/restaurant/bar, one that makes up for its diminutive size with buckets of personality, a charming laneway location, and some kick-ass food. And drinks. And vibes. All with a cheerful, Mauritian bent. Much of Bistro Du Peuple's charm comes from its gregarious leaders, Jean-Francois & Jennifer they are there to chat and have a laugh with all who roll through the door.

The Bligh Place restaurant is split into a couple of little levels - there’s a small space downstairs, looking out onto the lane and bustling with chatter. Then there’s the upstairs section, a small yet inviting nook at the top of the stairs, with a view onto the happenings below. There’s also an outside space,for enjoying the sunshine (or huddling against heaters in the winter until the beer blanket takes hold).

Bistro Du Peuple is found down Bligh Place, hiding just off Flinders Lane near Elizabeth Street. It’s a sneaky little location, but certainly makes one feel like they’ve discovered a treasure trove of food and drink. Flinders Street Station is a couple minutes’ walk away, and obviously there’s an abundance of trams nearby - this is the city after all.

Had a fabulous dining experience celebrating my birthday here. Felt warmly welcomed the moment we walked in. Excellent service and our sommelier James and waiter Ben were quite friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious as well as creative! Each course was beautifully presented and explained in details. Also a perfect venue if you want to enjoy some cocktails while overlooking the city at the bar area. Appreciate the lovely birthday card from the whole team at Vue de monde. Would definitely come back when visiting Melbourne again.

Words cannot describe how amazing and wonderful my dinner was. From the moment I walked in the restaurant, Vue de monde offered an exceptional experience that is levels above everything else I have experienced before. What impressed me so mush was to see the dedication of all the team from the host at the entrance to the chefs and waiters, they had all been so professional and amazing! Every dish was beautifully and creatively presented, delicious and perfectly seasoned. Service was top notch as well, with each dish being described thoroughly as to the origins of the food and ingredients, and the whole process of cooking.  It was a fabulous and superb experience overall. Couldn’t fault this restaurant at all. This is a must visit restaurant in Melbourne as it is worth every dollar for an experience in ultimate dining. Thank you so much for an amazing and unforgettable night. I've already made a reservation for my second visit to the Vue de monde in September. I can't wait!!!

A restaurant that I have been looking forward to eating at for some time and words can’t describe how amazing and special this dinner was. From the moment you walk in the team here cater an exceptional experience that is levels above anything else I have tried previously. This is what hospitality is all about with a genuine care and generosity that is second to none! Honestly can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. A massive thank you for looking after us and I can’t wait to join you again in the future!

A must-visit when in Melbourne  and if you’re willing to splurge alittle on food . You will most definitely leave feeling satisfied as all courses were good, interesting and some even interactive and fun! Service was impeccable too and a staff had even given us a tour around the open-concept kitchen. Staff members were very helpful, personable and pleasant. Be sure to ask for a table with a view of the city to give your experience an *oomph factor. Overall, dinner was well-executed. The plating was a 5/5.

I can’t post the food pictures because I wouldn’t want to ruin the element of surprise with the chef’s menu. Saying it was superb does not do it justice. The food was beyond amazing, wine pair spot on, and service truly one of the best. They made my evening in Melbourne memorable. Thank you to the entire talented staff and for the behind the scenes tour of the fabulous kitchen!

BEAUTIFULLY presented with attention to details even for an event. The taste is consistently falvoursome but delicate. The service is friendly without feeling pretentious for an event, not quite sure for a normal service. The steak is cooked so well that it melted like butter-No need for a steak knife. The view through the windows and/or in the balcony gave a lovely view of the city and the sunset.  Would be a lovely place to host an event or for a date.

Wonderful dining experience - beautifully presented and delicious food, immaculate service and amazing views. 14 course degustation was perfectly balanced, creative, delightful and gorgeously presented.  Fantastic service, can't fault it  Make sure you ask for a table by the window. Will come back.

Absolutely fantastic.. 10 stars for service and unparalleled experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for you to celebrate an occasion.. be it a birthday, anniversary or a successful milestone... you will receive a beautiful reception and a service that will make you feel very special. Superb dining experience, with the greatest attention to the consumers experience - amazing sweeping views over the city, gorgeous sunset, comfortable seating, kangaroo leather tables, great hygiene and food - oh so amazing. Each dish arrives with an explanation  by very personable  happy staff as to the origins of the food the ingredients and on unusual crockery. Just superb place for a celebration !

Words such as Amazing, Sublime, and Phenomenal are not enough to describe the unbelievable experience from the moment you enter until the time you leave. Every minute is like a well rehearsed orchestra elevated by the Michelin quality food and delicious wine pairing! We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and every member of the Vue de monde team both front and back of house congratulated us for our special occasion. This is a bucket list restaurant and one that every person should experience at least once in their lifetime.
