Yes staff can be overwhelmed and at times difficult to find but you know what Big W is not a high end department store it is a mass retailer where you do it all yourself. Browse, select item and purchase. I was there for nearly an hour today browsing and buying for Christmas. Books, toys, kids clothes, toiletry gift sets, etc. During lockdown I also placed a couple of online orders that were delivered in a reasonable time frame considering the backlog the delivery services have. Big W has it all and overall shopping there is always a pleasure.
I visited here for a TV I had seen online. I wasn't able to see what I wanted and was fortunate to be able to speak with a staff member who was able to locate exactly what I was looking for. He was very helpful and had no problem seeing if what I waited was available. I was impressed with the customer service provided.
My partner and I were being helped by a lovely worker and were rudely interrupted mid-service by another store worker/manager by the name Karen demanding why the worker was helping us… cannot believe the way staff at this workplace treat each other- absolutely disgusting behaviour!
BIG W Southland is a very big store - neat & tidy with everything you need in home supply & heaps of fashion clothes -- kids toys & clothes & the book reading material is well stacked with literature and novels & ART etc... - the Jewellery & handbags.,. BIG W is one of the always cheaper & good for your dollar than other stores of the same ..,.
Could not review this item on website as purchased instore Christmas Tree Garland: Australiana - 1.5m. Hanging it up found broken pieces falling off. Its poor quality and not worth the 20$. Otherwise it is pretty. It will be going back for a refund.
Nice to see this very family friendly venue/mall open and buzzing. We got in at about 11am on Saturday with Christmas 3 weeks away. Parking was comfortable, the food court and shops were busy but not too crowded. We really enjoyed our experience!
Friendly staff. I had a lady named Olga go out of her way to make sure I got what I went down for and then she saw the transition through till the end. It was great to get a personal touch from the staff at Southland big w.
Went to get a few gardening products and maybe some bits n bobs for the house. Not many specials on and hours are lacking in comparison to kmart downstairs.. Big W is a pleasure otherwise, the prices are higher than Kmart but the selection is slightly larger.
Let's be honest, Coles in Southland is far better. But if you can't get parking on that side then Woolworths will do.
Always a good selection of goods and generally quick sraff checkout and NOT self service!
